I've been mistaken for a guy a few times here myself. More so however was my sister.

I've always thought of Mechana as a kind of feminine name - but that chicken-avatar may have had something to do with it ;)

As for me - a lot of people thought that I was female because of the "J" at the end of my name. Which is why I say my name is Johnnie - same as the whiskey.

I always seem to choose French words that are masculine. :\

But fire and tree are just neutral in English. Whatever.

On other message boards, where I'm "Feu" (French for "fire"), almost always I'm confused for a male before people talk with me a bit.

Arbre (French for "tree") kinda sounds like the female name of Aubree to some people... so I think that's why the gender confusion doesn't occur as much with it.

I'm female, though, as the special symbol next to my SN here clearly shows. :P

I think that the name Scribs is pretty masculine, but I have had no time to test what people think. Of cource my avatar is not very feminin so I Think it will be ok.

I don't know of many females that go by the sobriquet of "The Grammarian." Or many males, for that matter. Nowadays, most people call 'em linguists or copy editors.
To all, life thou givest, to both great and small.
In all life, thou livest, the true life of all.
We blossom and flourish as leaves on a tree
And wither and perish, but naught changeth thee.

uh, mine mostly sounds masculine, so...*shrug*

It sounds masculine, but I'm gonna have to explain what it means. It's actually Latin for "the wind wills it." Although I prefer to think of the wind as the Holy Spirit, since it's the same word, minus "sanctus."

You would probably know me now as BBladeKai879 or something equally... numberful... XD. So you can all be glad I just went with my name! ^^

I like your username :)

I think mine is blatantly feminine. Although it's a stereotype that mainly guys are interested in dragons, I don't know many who'd want to name themselves a sparkling dragon, though I could be wrong.

However...I use the same name for my Xbox Live account, and I get asked quite often "Hey, are you a GIRL?" to which I normally matter of factly respond with either "No, I'm a frog" or "I'm a dragon" quite often.

I always thought that 'lehn' was a bit masculine in the sense that it is very strong sounding, at least to me. Fem but strong, although its not exactly a name that brings fourth images of duckies and bunnies...

Well, Conner is a male name. So I would say yeah, my username fits my gender. Though I have been mistaken as female because of a few things I said on a message board within a short period of time, which were taken out of context. It was hilarious.

Avatars are the biggest gender deciders. At least it is for me. If I see someone with a girl Avatar I instantly think girl. Its a good thing we have the gender markers on the name tags... but its a bad thing some people don't use them!
