The worse thing I seen today was somehow a rumor got started that gasoline was going to run out and stations would close for the Labor Day weekend. People were going NUTS blocking flow of traffic, driving in front of vehicles to get into the stations, traffic was backed up all over the area.
My pickup truck holds 30 gallions of gasoline which I wouild run down to quarter tank but now I go half tank now. Alot of stations were holding at $2.99 a gallion but prices prices were going up has people pumped gas.
I keep feeling that its going to get worse then the 70s gas lines which I got caught in when I started driving. Stealing gas, robbery, fights or worse.

A recent study showed that if you take inflation into account, the gas prices are cheaper than they were in 1920-1950. Of course, there has been this recent spike in prices. I'm sure it will go back down though.

Around here, people have been going crazy filling up their cars and stuff because of the rumors of the gas shortages or whatever. And of course, as a result, the stations are empty. Earlier today we went to get some gas in our car, and the stations in the area were ALL out of regular and medium grade gasoline. The only gas they had left was PREMIUM. And the lines were still crazy.

Stupid people.

Edit: Purplemoose, if you read earlier posts, you'd see that coffee is a very bad alternative to gasoline. It's about 10x more expensive. Unless of course, it's at least 10x more EFFICIENT than gasoline. Hah.

I know someone who built an electric car. He's really into that stuff, and it can go at racing speeds. If anyone is interested in getting information about building your own electric car, PM me. (Obviously, it requires a lot of work.)

You guys under $3 are lucky it was $3.40 here in some places close. But the BP two blocks away was $3.18 last I checked. Glad I filled up before all of this, but I'm at like a quarter tank now...

Oh well I could care less really it won't kill me. If this is all I have to deal with while hundreds of thousands of people are homeless and have absolutely nothing left now then I feel lucky.

I'm working on a method for teleportation. With my luck I'll get stuck in an alternate dimension or something though, or all of me will get there but my head.

The gas prices are terrible though. We had to cancel a family trip this weekend, and then cancel the compensation for the family trip as well. (Meeting my uncle for canoeing.) I mean, the last time they asked people to conserve gas like this was World War II.

I say we all move to Canada.

Last time I checked it was $3.09 but it might of dropped since then. I echo in saying with Yojimbo (and everyone who said this as well since I skipped over it) that I'm glad the least of my worries is soaring gas prices whereas for the people in New Orlean, Bilioux, and surrounding areas wish that the least of their worries is soaring gas prices.

I'm now laughing at myself a year ago saying "What!? Gas is a 1.90!? That's absurd."

*shakes head*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Yup! Pricing are crazily rising here too! I miss the days when it was like 40 cents a litre. What happened?? And yet we all thought going up to like 70 was high :/ Now here it's about, 116 or so and rising :/ (Although this town is cheaper than many surrounding areas). Still... we're pretty povo around here so these prices don't help^^

Hmmm with the converting of currancy, I'd say we're prob around the same price as US... maybe you guys are a tad more though in some areas^^

Today when I was working the gas station section, the gas price dropped from 2.87 to 2.72 for unleaded. So we were very busy. But I'm hearing that will go up tomorrow.

Canada solves everybody's problems.

I went to fill up on Thursday, and there were lines all the way out to the street. They had some of the store workers out there directing traffic, and if anyone took too long at the pumps, people would get out of their cars and glare at them. I was afraid this one lady who lost her card was going to get jumped. They were really mad.

Here, all you have to do is walk down the street and see a 20cent differential between stations.
