Piloswine is no more.

Talk about anything in here.

Piloswine is no more.

Postby Scribs » Thu Sep 01, 2005 7:42 pm

Well, I thought that I would let everyone know that my name is no longer Piloswine, it is now Scribs. I chose to do this because after 1000 posts I decided that the name piloswine didnt fit me. The new one may not either, but at least it isnt the name of a pokemon, and it is capitalised.

Just thought I would let you all know who this is (though I suspect you might have been able to guess from the avatar and the sig) cause it really thew me through a loop when I saw the names of some other members change their names.

To add a little more purpose to this thread I am attaching a poll.

EDIT: post 1000! W00t!

Scribs ... sounds like a crewmember name for a weekly sci-fi series to me. ^^

Now I have to edit my sig!

I am glad that you all like my new name.
I am also glad that only one of you voted for lumberjack so far.

Are you suggesting there's anything unmanly or not OK about our fine lumberjack?

Scrib sounds like the blood pack they use to simulate splatter in the movies.

The name strikes me as something that would be lying near a sewer and probably involved unusually large rats. That didn't really detract from the name for me. It works.

O_o Your name REALLY reminds me of a monster that is in Morrowind : The Elder Scrolls for Xbox. I'm fairly certain there's a monster named very similar to the name Scribs, but I could be wrong. I need to check that xD

Where'd you get the inspiration for the name from?

You may be associating the word "scabs" with his new SN. :sweat:

The first thing that came to my mind was a short form of "Scribbles." So, I picked the "crazed crayon artist." It matches the creative style you've demonstrated in the coloring contest, although I'm pretty sure you have not limited yourself to crayons.

Another association I briefly considered had a more fear-oriented touch, perhaps some thing that I would expect in a horror movie like "Chuckie", "Willy" and "Boogieman." I'm not sure why...I can't find a word that I'm associating it with. It's not "cribs" and neither should it be "creeps."

Oh well, eitherways, I'm glad to see that only your name has changed and you're still with us. ^__^

Scribs remind me of the word "squib." So sorry my non-magical friend.

No, really, I like it. I never could pronoune your old name anyways. :lol:
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Lol, actually it reminds me of the word "squib" most for some reason (don't know if you're a Potter person or not, so if you're not I guess you won't get it. . .) I don't know why, it really does sound like scrubs more, but for some reason that just popped into my head. . . so I'm going with it ;)

But since that wasn't an option I just picked the one about crayons.

EDIT: WOW, I SERIOUSLY didn't read Osaka's post before I made mine. . . we really ARE psychic! O.O
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
