Just simply tell what sort of believer you are here. (Catholic, Baptist, etc.)
I am most likely:
Messianic

but myself... I dunno... I don't slap myself as pentecostal.... but I am protestant I know that... all I know is that I love Jesus ^^

I believe some pentecostals believe that "if you don't speak in tongues then you have not been baptised in the holy spirit" which my church nor do I believe in

I'm not a member of any denomination to tell the truth even though
I was born and raised Presbyterian(USA)and now attend the local
United Church of Christ I haven't really joined a church since I was
in Bible School when we were going to the local IFCA church in Alderwood
Manor(Lynnwood),Washington.
Truth to tell both of my sisters are Baptists but I find that I do not
agree with the Baptists on the central article of pedobaptism(I'm for it).
Right now IF I joined any denomination it might be Lutheran. But then
again I am not much of a joiner.

Yeah my family and I are still searching for a church to attend. The one we are currently attending once in a while is Roah Israel. My parents have been going there long since I was born. But it seems to have declined a fair bit from what's its full potential used to be. It used to be a friendly place but most people are kind of rude now, except for the people who have been going there for as long as my parents. It is generally a good church but it feels like its not the right place for us. We're still searching for just the right place. I pray and think eventually we will find our right gathering place but it has been very hard to find it so far.

Non-denomination.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I never really think of myself as Pentacostal (although I used to go to a Catholic church in my childhood) but I always think of the Baptists and Reformed Churches in the town as not really denominations but almost like rival youth groups ;) I mean, we all know each other, and despite our slight differences, it's being Christian that matters! *nod* *nod*

I was born, raised, and remain a Baptist, specifically a Southern Baptist. While I am at school I attend a non-denominational church with fairly strong pentecostal/charismatic (depending on who you ask) leanings.

I agree with Baptist doctrine on practically everything except their position on spiritual gifts. I believe that they still exist today; however, I am not about to leave the church over that. I don't need a church that is tailor-made to my particular beliefs on secondary issues (which could turn out to be false) in order to worship ;) .

Non-denominational. Have any of you other non-denomies ever noticed that when somebody asks you what denomination you are and you tell them, they look at you kind of funny like they think you just made it up or something?? It's funny how some people can't imagine there being such a thing as a non-denominational church.

There's that, and the fact that the "non-denominational" label is so broad that it includes a lot of churches with odd--or even heterodox--beliefs.

For example, when I was younger my mom took us to a non-denominational church for a time. The "church" had more in common with the New Age Movement than with Christianity, and there were sermons on things like Astrology, God as "father-mother," and all sorts of crazy things (nothing on the Bible, oddly enough).

Of course there are a lot of good non-denominational churches, but there are also some really bad ones. Granted, that is also true in the major denominations, but at least in the organized groups there is some degree of accountability and oversight beyond the walls of the individual church.

I CAN YUMIE!

I don't particulary care what denomination one is... I don't really think it matters in the long run, I mean, does GOD care? No...if you are saved then he doesn't...there for...I don't care! ^_^

I suppose you could say that I was non-denominational before, though since I was the child of an Air Force Officer we were always changing churches. Baptist, Lutheran, etc.

Now I have converted to Catholicism. I love it. I'll leave it at that since this isn't the "Why Your Denomination Is The Best" thread.

Let's see....I grew up as a Roman Catholic, joined college youth groups that were mostly Charismatic (I think) and now, currently attend Presbyterian church services. Overall, I'm pretty much non-denominational and join any Christian church God leads me to. *nods*
