Does your name have a meaning? If so, does it apply to you?

I've read that my name meant "Truthful." At first that annoyed me, because it seemed so commonplace. ("Of course I tell the truth!") But now I like it. Because telling the truth can apply to writing stories where you try to communicate some truth or other...

And I do try to tell the truth. Even when it doesn't seem like it, I try to be truthful in what I say. (I don't count being sarcastic, though.)

Well I don't know if this makes any sense, but anyway, does your name (your real one), have a meaning and if so does it apply to you?

Mine comes from Ann, which means "grace" or "graceful" last time I checked. It's pretty cool even if it is wrong.

My name just means the "man from Lucaina" or something like that... It's often linked to, I believe, the greek word for Light, though... So most name cards say something like bringer of light/ Giver of light... Really, it just means that Luke (the Physician) was from a certain Greek city... Lucaina, or whatever it was...

My bio-mom just named her kids after the gospels... Matthew, Mark, Luke... I'm just wondering what she would have done if she had five. "Come here, Acts!"

I kind of answered this on my own in the "If you could change your name" thread, but I'll post again because I can.

My first name is Hope. It's origin is English, and it's probably pretty obvious what it means xD A definition I read once included "to trust faith" and I rather like that.

My middle name is Vanessa. It's origin is Greek and it means "Butterfly", so if you put the meanings of my name together, it's like saying "Trust faith butterfly".

I would really like to name my children (at least the boys) biblical names, like Noah or Luke (or Matthias, that's a name you never hear anymore), not out of hope that they will somehow mystically acquire those qualities of their namesake, but hopefully because they will always have a biblical model before them. Watch though, I'll end up with a little boy named Reese. XD

My real name is Crystal... like a couple others... but my meaning from my parents is different -> A crystal reflects and creates a purer light.... so my parents wanted me to reflect who God is and what his love is in a better and purer light than the world could ever create. Also that i would be pure and unspotted because Jesus is the savior of my life.

My Last name Harrel: dont know but after my dad it Gained great respect.

Natsumi= "Beautiful Summer" -> i always grew up in tucson where the summers are hot and musty... not a beautiful summer... so i wanted a name that reflects what i desire in a summer .. Also in christian terms it is the higher points of life. SO i want to have a continuous and wonderful higher points of life.

Perhaps not too exciting, but I really like the meaning behind the name.
