Yes, this thread *is* being watched. So far it has self-corrected.

Here is a brand new anime that you should be sure to avoid (it's still being relased in Japan so Fansubs are the only way to see it right now).

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien - I have only seen the first three episodes but I am never going to finish it and I suggest you don't waste your time with it. The first episode was one of the most boring things I have ever seen in my life. The plot follows four friends from high school, and it reminds me a lot of a soap opera. Also there were already 2 sex scenes in the episodes I watched so I decided that the recycle bin was an excellent place for this show.

Honestly, things like that, that usually bore most people, keep me glued to the screen. Although, I had only seen the first ep, I did not know it was like that. Thanks for the heads up.

I know that it was based off an H-game/dating sim of some sort. However, anime that are spawned from dating sims normally do not maintain the *sex* part, from the ones that I have seen. i.e. Kanon was originally an h-game, but it was a very clean anime, and highly enjoyable. I heard that even To Heart had its roots in some hentai game.

not all dating sims are hentai

Tokimeki Memorial, for instance, isn't an h-game...

I suppose I should clarify, Kanon was not originally an H game, it was a dating sim for the Sega Saturn. The PC version supposedly had H and non-H play modes.

You should avoid Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins >-< The stories are interesting, but they are a bit hentai... there are animes with girls that show a bit, but I think it's alright, since it's only once or twice. Some alright ones are like Chobits, Pretear, and Fushigi Yuugi; just ignore them and you're fine. But things like the Onegai series... :shady:

The sad part is A lot of Hentai is named very biblically look below:
  • Bible Black
  • New angel
  • Countless others involving the name 'Angel'

As to weather or not they have good storylines...well The japanese take their Lust seriously. I'll have to say of all the Pornography Bible Black was the most addicting because IT had a story line...a good one too... But Volt's a good boy now...that was years ago...(embarised)

vinci, can you elucidate a bit more on why the series is 'hentai'? Someone was asking about Please Teacher (which I assume is the same series as Onegai Teacher) in another thread, and myself I've never seen the series.

Well i don't htink it's complete hentai but it's about a teacher (duh) who's got the most sickest room I've ever seen, with inapropraite life size dolls that would be used for none other than...

And I think it was about him going on dates or spending the night with his students...I don't know..I never watched it but have seen a page or two of the Manga.

I have seen Onegai Teacher (Please Teacher) and it was NOT hentai, not even perverted in any sense. I have not seen Onegai Twins, but if it is supposed to be a somewhat related sequel, then I doubt it is bad.

My anime club at my college is VERY strict about what we watch. We aren't allowed to show any hentai, or anything too perverted. We have the strict law that children may walk in so everything has to be down to a PG-13 level. We watched all of Chobits and Onegai Teacher with no problems whatsoever.

I wasn't a fan of Chobits really, just because it didn't entertain me. But I really enjoyed Onegai Teacher, it almost made me cry near the end.

I'm quite a big chobits fan (shounen with a bit of cyberpunk stuff thrown in). In my opinion the anime is fine. The manga can get quite dodgy at times though... I've got the first two volumes of the series :/

I saw the first four episodes of Onegai Twins at an anime con. Some of it is indeed a bit dodgy, however it's still definatly watchable. Is that the series you saw Vinci?

I have seen all of Onegai Teacher, and can safely say it's not hentai... As was said, it's not that perverted... Less fanservice than, say, Ranma... Even the ellusive 13th ep (a special, really) Oh, and OrKi, I feel the same way about Onegai Teacher... I think it was episode 11 where you find out what is causing (things) and I did cry when I watched that episode... It was great...

Onegai Twins, on the other hand, was far different... It was not even close to OTe, except for it takes place in the same area and with a few characters in common... It hints at incest and it lost ALL the charm of Onegai Teacher... I admit I didn't watch it all the way through (I gave up fansubs and it doesn't have a legitamate release yet) but I don't feel like sitting through the same thing episode after episode.

I wouldn't call twins hentai, but the whole incest thing, and the fact that there is mild seduction going on the whole time, really turned me off to it...

Whatever it is you're talking about, it's sure not Onegai Teacher... Onegai Teacher is about a FEMALE teacher, not a MALE teacher... Maybe you mean "Great Teacher Onizuka" that's about a male teacher who is perverted.

Onegai Teacher is actually quite heartwarming... It's very emotional, and the culmination is particularly well done (not counting the 13th ep, not a standard ep, which is one big piece of fanservice... though not without it's cute moments, the idea behind it is pretty screwed up)

I did have a quick glance at some Onegai Teacher reviews and websites. I wasn't too comfortable with the artworks/ads since IMO, it was hinting mild 'H' or major fanservice.

I just happen to be a gal who's very sensitive to H and this is a series I'll choose to stay clear of even if it's actually clean. It's too bad if it's as clean as you guys say, coz the ads aren't giving that kind of message!

EDIT: Once again, I emphasize two things. 1) My opinion is based on the ads and artwork pics, not from watching the series. 2) My tolerance towards hentai is very low. I've stated my first and last opinion on this.

Yaoi & Yuri - For those who don't know the terms: yaoi is a word for male x male relationships, and yuri is for female x female stuff. There are some other terms for these things (shounen-ai, shoujo-ai, tanbi, maybe there are more words, I'm not sure...), but I won't describe and explain everything here, OK? Anyway... it's just not something I want to see. I don't hate people who are gay/lesbian, but I do consider homosexuality wrong because of my religion and upbringing. That's why I don't watch yaoi/yuri-focused anime. As far as my knowledge goes, the most popular yaoi/shounen-ai anime are FAKE, Gravitation, Ai no Kusabi, etc. Some works by CLAMP contain homosexual themes, but they are not that explicit.

*eye twitch* Not to be uber evil. But Some of the best Animes have Yoai or Yuri in them. *cough* Card Captor Sakura *Cough* El Hazard.. .to say a few.

ALSO! Ninja Scroll is just kick ***! I mean sure there is some very sexual scenes .. .but once you get pass that it's awsome!

But if you want to avoid bad anime.. .don'tever in your life watch Yugioh! I mean just looking at it makes me twitch. Also Hamtaro is just hte spawn of Satan! Also Blue Seed was pretty crappy.

hey cool finally i wanna dicuss this things that had been debated, great to see christian anime fans finally speaking their honest views well here is mine:

Yaoi and Yuri: This is one of far by the worst and the most disgusting things that creators have done to degrade the uniqueness of anime, i mean come on! Why make two people of the same gender to fall in love? In real life it never even worked and now japanese female manga artist mostly love to make handsome men in animations fall in love(more like blind lust >_<) with another cute little man, that's is so despicable to those animes that glorify the santity of opposite gender couples man! I mean these women have screwed minds the creators and the rapid fangirls(yeah mostly fangirls like this things >_< bleh) and some of them sadly call themselves christians, i mean what the "censored"! women going for this things just to satisfy their unfullfilled desire is no different from those pervert guys who wanna make hentai animations to satisfy their own carnal desires. Same thing goes for yuri as well as what i said above, men wanting to carnal their desires same with the women(gotta go will write more later see ya! ^_^)

MY BEST FRIEND IS GAY AND IN A FEW YEARS WILL BE MARRIED TO HIS BOY FRIEND. WHO IN THE HELL ARE YOU TO JUDGE PEOPLE BASED ON THEIR PERSONAL CHOICES IN LIFE? ARE THEY FORCING YOU TO DO IT? Don't know if anyone mentioned this one, but Slayers is full of occultic symbols and the like (the main character is a sorceress).

About Full Metal Panic... Why does everyone seem to think it's fine? The first ep. was loaded with swearing and was also somewhat violent and contained some nudity (the shower scene). Not too good, I think. _-_

ummm is it Full Metal Panic! or Full Metal Panic?

the Full Metal Panic? is a lot cleaner than the first one from what I hear. Although there is some episodes with boys trying to peak in on girls in the shower and a lot of random military violence...which is part and parcel of the show.

Also, what show doesn't...anime wise....have some sort occult symbolism?
Why does the business of growing up - one's recollections of growth itself - have to be so tragic? I still haven't found the answer. I doubt if anyone has. When I finally reach that stage at which the placid wisdom of old age, with the dry clarity that comes toward autumn's end, occasionally descends on a person, then I too may suddenly discover that I too understand. But I doubt whether, by that time, understanding will have much point.Yukio Mishima
