listing of GOOD AMVs

Postby Tenshi no Ai » Wed Aug 24, 2005 9:47 pm

(Haven't been on here in bout a week) but there was a topic on AMVs and people mentioned how hard it is to find the really ones... well, here's a place to share some of the top-notch ones you've found to share with others! Ones that aren't random clips spliced together to make up a thing and images that actually GO with the lyrics and so forth... well, here's a small list of my favs in the anime and song it's with (since I can't remember the actual titles)

Anime - Song - Artist

Kenshin - Butterfly - can't remember... some DDR band

RahXephon - Must Be Dreaming - Frou Frou (top rated video and you can see why... got it only cause of it's high rating and never seen so much effort put into an AMV)

FFX - Only One - Yellowcard

Escaflowne the Movie - Fiction - Kajiura Yuki

So list yours! I know it's hard to find real good ones myself so it would be nice to know some good ones.

Tactics - Silence - Hitoki

Matantei Loki Ragnarok - Eden - Loveable Neko Kyou

There are plenty of other good ones, espeically Shounen Bushido, but I can't remember the songs or the artists. ^^; And those are from my two favorite series, and they're both very beautiful videos.

Okay, forgive me for my fanboy talk here in a min.

My fav AMV is,

Escaflowne- Glory of Love

This has to be one of the best Escaflowne AMV that I have seen.

When I saw it at anime con. I just yelled out, we love you Van and Hitomi!

Oh goodness, don't get me started--too late.

~Swallow~
Now and Then, Here and There with "Swallow the Knife" by Story of the Year.
Because I Choose To
An X/Ah My Goddess crossover video to "Kryptonite" by Three Doors Down.
Darkness Over Light, The Other Side of Me
My favourite Naruto AMV, done to "Downfall" by Trust Company.
Whisper Of The Beast
More Naruto, this time to some German(?) band that sounds like a really deep-voiced Linkin Park. So much work went into this video it's insanity.
Tainted Donuts
Cowboy Bebop versus Trigun. 'Nuff said.

I'll add s'more later.

Someone already mentioned "I Must be Dreaming." That is, indeed, an incredible video. A few of my favorites are:

One of my favorite videos is "Football!", which is an azumanga daioh video to the song "The System is Down" by Strongbad. So funny.

Another one of my favorite videos is called "Grand Finale" and it's choreographed to the theme from the movie "Edward Scissorheand". This video is a tribute to Kana and Hatori. When I showed it to my little sister, she just kept saying "It give me shivers!"

And I must second Lord Impact's suggestion of Tainted Donuts. That video is a piece of editting magic.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

If you like YYH, try to find the one I made (it's running around on Limewire [a p2p program] somewhere)

It's called Can't Touch Me..., it's a YYH video using Hiei clips. Everyone that has seen it really likes it.
If you ever need someone to talk to, or to pray for you, or to disciple you, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Oh, man. Ever since I went to Otakon and watched the contest, I have developed a shameless addiction to AMVs. You guys just asked for it.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - Roses Are Red - "Sailor Love Story" [slight shoujo-ai warning - VERY slight]

Cowboy Bebop - These Girls Are Crazy - "These Girls Are Crazy (2003 Remake)"

Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu - (I Hate) Everything About You - "(Hale Hates) Everything about Guu" [slight nudity/suggestiveness]

Kodomo no Omacha - Walkie Talkie - "Walkie Talkie"

Naruto - Ninja of the Night - "Ninja of the Night"

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Boo Bop Bopbop Bop (I Love You, Too) - "Disney's Evangelion" [severly disturbing]

Various - It's Tricky - "It's Tricky to Make a Music Video"

Various - 1985 - "Still Preoccupied With 1985"

Various - Main Title - "The Wizard of Ozaka"

All videos are available for download at www.animemusicvideos.org.
Think happy thoughts.

My FAV's: (in order of me thinking them up)

- Nadesico done to a Futurama house mix
- History of Anime
- First Contact (Wings of Honnemaise to J. Goldsmiths ST - 1st Contact instrumental)
- Lodoss chibi omake done to the Camelot song from Monty Python & the Holy Grail
- Edward Elric wishes real hard and gets the Midori no Hibi girl stuck to his hand.
(done to Nightwish)
- Mai Hime done to Nightwish.
- WHR to the Matrix Reloaded trailer, with pitch blending to raise Neo's voice up into
a female register, and the last syllable of "Mister" carefully removed so Agent Smith
(Amon) addresses 'her' as 'Miss Anderson!' Of course Robin replies 'It ends tonight.' Etc.
- Ace Combat Zero, done by Pwolf
- A crossover with Kamui (X) and Belldandy (AMS) as lovers separated across dimensions.
- Pikadiator: Pickachu to Russel Crowe's 'Gladiator.' Cracked me up.
- Bounty Hunters that Don't do anything: Approprtaie ABUSE of over done series (Bebop)
doen to a crunchy/grungy cover (by 'Reliant K') of a sappy song which also richly
deserves to be lampooned.

My own works I had fun making:
- Chibi things vs M2HB
- 'Saito's Eleven' Ssito Hajime rounds up the Kenshin gang to bust the casinos, plus one
cameo spot from another series ...
- 'Last Exile' set to the 5th season opener of Babylon 5

A few of my personal favorites:

His and Her Circumstances - Build Me Up Buttercup - "Build Me Up Buttercup" The Goops
FLCL - Mamimi - "Museum of Idiots" They Might Be Giants
FLCL - I Believe In A Thing Called Love - "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" The Darkness
Various - Little Tortilla Boy - "Little Tortilla Boy Trailer" Pablo Fransisco
Azumanga Daioh - Love Love AZuManGa - "Love Tropicana" Sister Mayo
Various - Canadian Pride - "Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen" Ren and Stimpy

My tastes stend to run in direction of the slightly goofy

I've also seen an Evangelion AMV that used all of Pink Floyd's "The Wall." On a technical level, it wasn't really that great, but the sheer scope of the thing was very impressive.
