Shao, my heart is breaking for you right now, I am so sorry that this is happening to your family. You'll be in my prayers, I'm planning on praying about the matter immediately.

I may not be the most active member her, and I certainly dont know you personally, but I want you to know that you will be in my prayers.

Several of my close relatives have gotten into divoce situations, and I know what a horrible ordeal it can be, I will be praying for you.

Hey let's be a little careful to remember that this isn't about who's right or wrong right now, this thread isn't a debate on God's will, it's a pray request from a friend who is going through a difficult time, so let's let her know how sorry we are and not worry about whether or not she's right. Honestly there is so much debate over those issues that you probably won't come to an agreement anyhow.

That being said, I am so sorry, Shao! I hope things work out alright! :sniffle:
I am praying for you and your family!

Agreed...hence the taking of the issue to PMs, which if you will reread the posts was a mutual decision.

And in case you were wondering, the PMs have been quite cordial and constructive. It would be a pleasure if more people on the boards acted like Shao Feng-Li.

Good! ^-^ Not trying to be anybody's parent or anything, just wanted to recommend that nobody else bring it back up. Anyways, everybody else, let's make sure to respect Shao's feelings! :thumb:

I do feel for you, Shao. But we can only do so much. Maybe you should talk to your pastor or one of the elder's in you church. Your church family can provide comfort too.

Not to restart the argument, but I do believe in predestination. Like I said, I don't want to argue, I just want to support Shao, because I know what it's like to be all alone in what you believe.

Thanks Micheal. My dad doesn't live here anymore. Tonight he's staying at the pastor's home. That man [pastor] is quite a man. He'll continue to council Dad and be his friend. I know things will be allright, but still...

And thanks guys. It means a lot.

Oh don't worry about the PMs. cbwing0 and I are simply ahveing a civil discussion.

I only found a few verses on the subject. I'm sure that the Bible doesn't use the word "divorce" itself everytime. So I'd have to look into it.

My dad read a confession before the congregation today. I really hope that he's sorry for his sin and not that that he was caught in a lie.

Aw, man, that stinks. I'll keep praying for y'all.
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I wish things would actually be good news for once. On the news you hear about so and so many people died in whatever way and then there's the depressing personal lives. I'll continue to pray for everyone.

Since we moved to New York things have not been smooth. I hoped so much things would get better. But maybe it's best this way. Whatever you do, put no blame on my mother.

Well, I think its pretty much all been said, but for what its worth, I'm sorry. I know how you feel. I've been through parents getting divorce several times as well. It's hard. Really hard. Especially when you're really young. You don't understand. And moving on top of it. I just wanted to say that I can s to some degree imagine how you feel. But its times like these when we need to stay the closest to God. He can ease the pain, corny as it may sound. He's been through everything we have and more, after all. My prayers will be with you and your family. Keep faith
