um... Don't know what you're talking bout... Most PC users don't care... I'm one of the few that do, because I honestly and with good reason like windows better.

Most MAC fans on the other hand are VERY, shall we say, evangelistic and very vocal... I don't see that many people bashing Macs except in retaliation to Mac fans bashing windows, often with outdated statments... (no BSoD here...)

In any case, isn't that a dollar a song? That'll end up more than buying albums... Also, can you make CD's out of them? I mean, it might be worthwhile if you can DO something with those songs... Oh, I'm SORRY... iPod... Well, some of us like CD's and being able to play in many locations, but I admit not everyone will think like me... I dont' need them to. In any case, it's a moot point since I gave up on MP3's a while back... I'm really just rambling.

Personally I think the idea of buying music $1 per tune has come far too late... the pandoras box has long been open. .. now about ITunes.

The PC version is packaged with the Quicktime download. I don't use it as my media - I prefer to use Winamp (smaller, faster). As far as music purchases go, that won't work - because I live in the UK.

I think that ITunes serves as an interesting working concept for people to go "hmm" over. However in reality, most people are going to be downloading their music with Kazaa. Most of the money is still going to be made when people go to the shops and buy cds/records.

You won't see me buying any CDs anyway. The music industry needs to be rinsed dry.. so that it dies and reforms. I think that bands and artists should start making most of their money by performing instead of selling lots of records.

*cough*read comp.sys.mac.advocacy and comp.sys.windows.advocacy*cough*

Not to turn this into a Mac vs Windows war again (we've already had that on another thread), but I most definitely get a lot of flak even nowadays for preferring a Mac. I'm going to restrain myself, though. Back to iTunes.

The only thing I dislike about the iTunes music store is that the downloads are still in a custom locked format, but you can burn them to CD and easily get around that. I actually don't like iTunes much (I prefer MacAmp), but I do like the price, and I can get around this sole annoyance easily by just ripping it back into Toast Titanium and keeping the .aiff to play somewhere else.
