So far, (I am only a Senior) it has been a pretty good experience, with the exception of... the most terrible.. MATH!

Bad. I got bullied heaps, teachers turned a blind eye. I struggled with some subjects and the teachers were ill-equipped to help. There were some good times, like several good friends and subjects, but the bad outweighed the good unfortunately. And a Christian High-school nonetheless!

Simply put, I put it in what I have my current job and college...

"Transitional experiences"

You can't realistically live in these experiences, so it is best to just leave them as they are... that is one reason the Israelites wandered the desert for 40 years. They did it see it as simply a transition.

I go to a public high school, and while the years I've spent there have been a bit turbulent for me emotionally, it's not the school's fault, it's more family problems.

But anyways, no, my high school experience hasn't been negative (sans my demonic English teacher last year...) for me, and I've found I've actually matured spiritually more than I did at my Christian middle school.

Good enough for me. :)

I had sincere friends, understanding parents and good clean fun times. The studying routine was brutal and some teachers (maths in particular) were kinda mean though.

I'd say "fair." I hated it, and had bad things happen to me...however in the end I came out all the better for it. I voted "good".

yea i felt like i spiritually matured more at a public school, i got to lead the bible club so i spent hours and hours in the word... i might have not done that at a christian highschool. In elementary school i also did the bible club but when i went to a christian middle school there wasnt even one.

I had real emotional family issues and pastoral issues at the end of hs. But HS was awsome.. But the two together = ok

High school was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Then Sophomore year happened, and everything went downhill from there.

OK, let me qualify. All my best friends during my Frosh year were seniors. When the graduated, I ran out of fun, cool things to do. It's not like the following three years were terrible. The end.

High school was good, I made a lot of friends there. It's elementary school that was bad. Very bad.

Well, I survived all the stupid stuff that I did (not without consequences) and eventually figured out that it was stupid stuff, made friends, learned, both in the classroom and out, so over all, I would have to say it was good.

For the first four years my highschool was full of kids who really didn't want to go through with school, and generally behaved badly. Bullying included. Well, it was a public highschool, you see, and since this is Australia there's a whole variety of kids from various backgrounds. But then...

I became a senior.

Seniors wear different uniforms, as well as get a dedicated canteen line. Not only that, teachers totally respect seniors, and treated us seriously as students/adults rather than "just a bunch of kids". Also, all the kids who wouldn't continue school would have dropped out, and now the grade would be filled with students who wants to make their time at school worth it.

And all that made my last two years of highscool best days of my life.

Having some of best teachers Sydney could offer, as well as doing classes that I wanted to do (except English, that's a required subject), made it even better. No more fighting, everyone was friendly, we all had fun, and I was so happy.

I still miss highschool. University has its own coolness to it, but it still doesn't quite compare to highschool.

High school was mostly good for me.

Good:
1. Most teachers were nice and made a real effort to pass on their knowledge to us.
2. We had water fights with the teachers on the last day of every year!
3. There were a lot of free periods when I was in the last year of high school. This meant time to read or play Chinese chess. :)

Bad:
1. A few teachers were racist or incompetent but arrogant.
2. I got bullied often - to the point where I had no choice but to fight. Teachers are authorised to only do so much in school, and absolutely nothing outside of school.
3. The uniform. Why can't jeans and t-shirt be considered uniform? :)

Frankly, my sophmore year was one of the worst years of my life for a variety of emotional reasons. I almost had an emotional breakdown, my grandfather died and my father had a heart attack. However, I had some REALLY awesome friends who really helped me through those hard times. God used my best friend to help keep me sane, and because of her, some of the most wonderful memories of my life actually come from high school. I'd love to go back to my senior year.

I voted "good".

Its true when they say "school are some of the best years of your life", but you only realise it after you've finished. High school gets better as the years progress, in terms of more freedoms, more free lessons, more respect from teachers, and also socially. But work-wise it gets harder but arguably more interesting, so it balances out in the end. In school you know everyone (just about, or at least recognise their face) and have a close group of friends, and after that it's unlikely you'll get that same experience again.

Your high school years are unique. You'll never experience anything like them again. For some, that is very good news (and I feel for you), but for most, I recommend doing your best to enjoy the high school years.

Lesse...

I was homeschooled, so that eliminates most of the bad...

And I skipped gr. 12, so that eliminates the rest of the bad...

So I'd have to say it was very good. (But I'll check off HS instead...)

:::EDIT:::

By "skipped gr. 12" I mean I went right to college for an english degree... I didn't drop out :P...

I got a good education and a fair amount of college done during my highschool years, and as that is the main point that works for it. Meanwhile I didn't have to sacrifice other things, such as family and a few hobbies, so that is also good. I also found CAA during that time.

Um, I'm kind of bummed that "homeschool" is a completely seperate category. I mean, it's still school and it still has the potential to be good or bad so I was disappointed that I couldn't vote on how good or bad the experience has been, I could just say what kind of school I go to.

Anyways, if I had been able to vote I would have said very good. Homeschooling (while it is really hard) has been ideal for me and I've done it all my life, it's worked out great. Yay to homeschooling!

Good it was.

I like how you hae the options: good bad and homeschool, as if homeschool can be neither good or bad.

Lol, I know that's what I was saying-- I was about to put what I thought of highschool and then realized that I was obliged to just say I homeschool! But I went ahead and put what I thought in my post anyways.

I get the feeling the intention of the poll was to see if public high school was as bad as a lot of people crack it up to be...? ^^; Just a guess.

I'd say besides the fact I was depressed and no one noticed, the lack of real friends, and bad health it wasn't too bad. The teachers were pretty nice witht he exception of one evil history teacher who accused me of doing drugs when I was out of it because i had bronchitis. Which I had chroniclaly in high school. I actually did very well in school. Read a ton of great books. And had fun with the music department.

Mostly good.Though there were also some bad things about high school.Mostly the normal having to do with bullies and teasing, though one bad memory was that
one of my teachers in Anchorage was murdered by her boyfriend.
Other than that it was generally good.
