New album coming in October?

Demonhunter.net wrote:HUNTERS. We can now tell you that Demon Hunter's forthcoming third album, "The Triptych," will be available with three different album covers. We can also report that the band is recording their first ever cover song. "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" was originally released on the 1993 album "Cleansing" by the band Prong, a precursor to much of what is happening in metal today. While failing to stray too far from the band's tried and true identity, "The Triptych" will be Demon Hunter's heaviest, most technical and traditionally metal oriented album thus far. The drums, guitars and vocals will be more diverse and punishing than ever. Get ready... October is only a few months away and will be here before we know it!

But...I still have to get their FIRST two albums...I actually had a dream last night that I broke the only Demon Hunter cd I have. :eh: (Yes, it's burned, but I've been planning on actually buying it as soon as possible.)

Heh heh...I'm a regular over there and I forgot to put it up on this site...::hits head::

I have heard lots of rumors and speculations concerning this album. Like who will take over Jesse Sprinkle? Or what does technical in the Demon Hunter's sense mean exactly? Also I like the sound of the 3 different types of covers.

I hope this will be better then Summer of Darkness, after I listening to it for a week...it got old fast.

What was it that you dident like about SoD? I actaully felt it was superior to there first album. The first one seemed very generic to me I guess.

Can someone tell me about this please? I am assuming it's a band. Are they a rock or heavy metal band .. or something softer?

I like Lifehouse. Any chance they are similar to Lifehouse?

Thanks. :)

1) Guest Vocalists - Ruined the orginal sound of DH. Sometimes a guest vocalist can improve a sound (like in The Showdown with Josh Scrogin) but utilizing not 1 but 4 different artists just lessens Demon Hunter's orginal sound to a hodge podge of other styles. I would of been fine if Mike Williams or Howard Jones did guest vocalists but when they did two as well as adding Brock Lidow and Trevor McNevan just about destroyed DH's individual sound.

2) SoD was all hyped up but failed to serve. Thier was just a blitz of info, rumors, and media surrounding it that when it came out, it was just a downer.

3) Demon Hunter shouldn't be producing multiple albums. It is a side band. The only band members with Jesse Sprinkle leaving for DP is Ryan and Don Clark. Kris McCaddon, and Jon Dunn are just in the band for concerts. So to me, unless they get perminate members as well as taking a full stance on carrying this band, they don't have the heart or energy in it. Ryan and Don have Asterisk Studios which is first and foremost priority (plus thier families and God of course  )

4) The songs sounded the same. Some bands can pull this off but I found myself skipping way to many times cause the music ran together. The only stand out songs, to me, was I Play Dead, Our Faces Fall Apart, and The Latest and the Last. All the other songs failed to impress me or just seem to blend together.

5) And proably the biggest reason however it is a far cry from being a true solid reason is I am a die-hard fan, crazy fan boy of the first album. It was a little short of worshipping it. I don't think it left my c.d. player from June 2003 till that December. Loving the brutal yet beautiful style of songs like "Through the Black", "The Gauntlet", and "Screams of the Undead".

The new sound on SoD did anything BUT impress or make me like it whereas the self-titled not only introduced me to metal and opened many doors to other good metal bands. So yeah...but hey if you like it. more power to you. IK am just not a fan of it however, that doesn't mean I am not a huge supporters of the band. I am excited about this c.d. However, I guess I am more excited at Becoming the Archetype and Opeth's new albums which are coming out soon.

BTW, if you guys wonder where I am at besides CAA, check here...

I can't share any opinions on Summer of Darkness, but I agree with Hitokiri about the first album. Probably the hardest music I had listened to before then was Skillet. I actually wore out my first cd by playing it so often and then had to get another one. I did my homework to that album. (Demon Hunter+Plato's Republic= )

I love the music....but the lyrics hooked me. I love the depth and symbolism, and I have fun trying to 'decode' them. I would say they are similar to Lifehouse a bit in that way.

I must admit the only reason I ever got into DH is because I thought they were a Slipknot knock-off when I first heard them. I still think there first CD was...and thats the main reason I liked there second CD. They kinda did there own thing.

On DH's offical website, they did a official makeover as well as release 3 of the new covers as well as a new band photo.

Demon Hunter

Snake and Metal Skull w/ Blue Background

Ravens and Wooden Skull w/ Wasteland Background

Spiders and a Spider Skull w/ Cavern Background

I personally like the Wooden Skull.

As well, with Jesse Sprinkle leaving the band. Thier new drummer Yogi has taken Jeese's place. Yogi drummed for DH during thier tour where Jesse Sprinkle was busy with other matters. We will see if he can fill Jesse's shoes, bieng a beloved drummer to most DH fans.

Here's the band photo:

Small but good.

Pros: The guitar work is a bit more refined and traditional. It doesn't stick tot he usal Demon Hunter A - B - C type guitar sound style. It's very different. As well as the entire composition of the work. The clean vocals is an amazing step up compared to both s/t and SoD. Defiently the best out of thoese two clean vox wise.

Cons: The screaming. I am sorry but it sounds like Ryan Clark is trying to fuse screaming/yelling, and rapping. I don't mind it but when it's used in abudance like the new mp3, it gets annoying. I hope it won't be like this for the entire album. If it is...I might find it worse then SoD and I REEEAAALLLLY want to like this album.

New MP3 up..."Ribcage"

The melodic vocals are absolutely stunning. Ryan really outdid himself concerning that....the scream...eh...but the melodic vocals make up for it.

New Mp3 up on Pure Volume. "Fire to My Soul".

The same old screaming is still back. Gr. But the melodic vocals are extremely well done. One thing that the new album seems to show is the guitars have drastically improved from the same old chord to a more traditional metl style.

I love the vocals...very haunting.
