What type of friends do you have and what do they say about you?
Most of my friends were left behind in California, but I do have a few nice acquaintances here. Those I knew in my home state were very unlike me, which I find interesting! I had a friend who always carried at least three different kinds of lip gloss with her. She wore a different purse every day and modeled for several magazines. I thought I would never be close to her but we ended up being good friends. We still talk to each other via e-mail. She has been such a wonderful friend to me...on my birthday and on holidays she always sends me gifts that brighten up my day. Many times I get them when I am sad or depressed.
I have some pictures of me with my friends. I used to dress a little Goth but now I love to wear pretty, vibrant colors and flowing fabric. My neighbor in his Misfits shirt, baggy pants and black, long-banged hair looks so funny next to me in my bright blue beaded tunic/shirt with wistful bell-sleeves in a light fabric. Ha-ha! It's funny just thinking about it. Even when we were both Goth we weren't really. We both laughed too much (I didn't laugh at all for a long time, but towards the end of my depression I started to smile more. My friend, on the other hand...if boyish grins were against the law he would be imprisoned within the first few seconds)!
I also had some friends nicknamed Sano and Jakk. Jakk also was into wearing heavy eyeliner, happy bunny shirts and an insane amount of
bracelets. Later I found out that she was hiding the scars from cutting...I hope that all is well with her now.
What my friends say about me...
I like variety. Different personalities and stories fascinate me. Even though some people may think that I am anti-social, I love people. I just don't express it as easily. It takes a long time for me to consider someone my friend. That title is an honor and something to be earned, not flippantly given to anyone I come across.
