Anyone else from NC?

Postby SnoringFrog » Mon Aug 08, 2005 7:52 pm

Does anyone else here live in North Carolina? Or have relatives they visit here? I live in NC, and I thought it'd be funny if I found someone on here I've met before. Probably won't but, ya' never know.

Well, currently I live in South Carolina. I've been pastoring a church here for 7 1/2 years. Before that I was in Hickory, North Carolina for 3 years. I attended Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina where I graduated in 1984. My wife's parents live in the Hickory area and we travel up there about every other month to visit and of course I help out with Animazement in Durham, North Carolina each May. So I do have my ties.

Just a reminder guys, while it's fun to know that there are people in your area be very careful about giving too much detailed information about yourself online. Perhaps I've set a bad example here that I wouldn't want my own kiddos to follow. So please be careful.

Well! I was born at Fort Bragg Army Hospital and lived with my parents in Sanford for a few months and later Southern Pines for 7 years before moving to Maryland.
My Father was born and raised in Durham with his 2 brothers and 2 sisters until he joined the Navy just before the end of WW 2. He returned home and then joined the Air Force.
After he met (In GA) and married (In Durham) my mother(Shes from Ohio) he was transfered to Pope AFB part of Fort Bragg AB where I was born and my brother 2 years later.
My brother during his time in the Navy was trasfered to Jacksonville NC (with his wife and kids) about 2 years to be part of the Marines has a Corpsman.
My father still has 1 sister living in Durham along with numerous nieces and nephews in the state of NC. The rest of my father's brothers and sisters have departed this world.

I guess it depends on how you define "from."

I was born at Durham Regional Hospital in NC, so I guess technically I am "from" North Carolina, even though I've never lived there. I've pretty much lived in VA my whole life.

I think you're old enough to handle yourself, Doc. ;) But thanks for the warning. Vagueness is generally good concerning giving out information online. Yumie shows a very lovely evasion tactic in her post.

That being said, some friends and I went up to Nags Head this past summer, but other than that, no.
