Tattoo's have certian psyical risks, infection, nerve damage, and you can't change them very easily if you decide you don't want it anymore. But that's about it. I do not believe that tattoos are a moral issue (Unless the tattoo itself is inapropriate, of course..).
I think the biblical verse on not marking your body is referring to religious ritual, not decoration and self expression.

I see no problem with tattoos on guys or on girls. There are some really nice people who have tattoos, my oldest brother being one of them.
Like others have said, I think the only thing that could be wrong with a tattoo is if the tattoo itself was of something bad.
I've been thinking about getting a tattoo myself. If I do get one, I'd like one of a celtic cross or the japanese symbol for faith.

O ya ive heard of a few storys of people getting kanji tattoos and thnking that they know what they meen but really don't so if you get one in a lang. that you do not read yourself get sevral translations of it so that you dont get somthing like "im a ho" inked onto ya.

If I ever get a tattoo, it's gonna be those temporary ones.
Mave thinks the following are advantages to using temporary tattoos:
1) You can always have a tattoo when you feel like it
2) You can always remove it when you no longer feel like it
3) No pain involved in this! Well, at least in relative terms.
4) I doubt there are any health issues involved. Correct me if I'm wrong.
5) For you creative ones, you can have a variety of patterns and at any location of your body. If you change your desktop wallpaper as often as I do, you may agree that one permanent tattoo style gets a little....boring pretty quickly.
6) Isn't it cheaper too?
No, I don't think it's a sin to have a tattoo unless you have something blasphemous or mocking to the Christian faith on your skin. I generally prefer to address this issue from a practical point of view.
