I'm in a bit of a strange mood, so you might have to excuse me, but it occurs to me a CAA Ball would be a wonderful thing to have.
Were it that everyone could make it to one place at one time, each member could escort another to the ball where we would gather together, dressed in fine and full array, unknown by face but joined at the heart by Christ and this fellowship. Taking joy in being able to follow the etiquette of the finest respect, we could honour one another and mingle, making introductions and becoming known.
We would then all go to dinner, each gentleman seating his lady, and al together giving thanks to God, we would eat and further enjoy the opportunity to learn of one another in the fellowship. The dining would be of the finest fare, eating enough et not too much. The conversation would continue on into the night and those who had the inclination could take to the ballroom floor, to honour their partners and enjoy the pleasure of the dance.
Ending in prayer and the encouragment of the word, we could then part, each returning his partner to their proper place and retiring home, to continue with a life enriched.
Maybe one day.

That paints such a beautiful image in my mind... indeed, that would be a wonderful idea if it were at all possible or practical. Oddly enough, I could possibly see this kind of thing happening in our heavenly home someday (like frwl said).

Interesting....
I don't know about all at once, but perhaps in seperate areas or something, someone mentioned to me a *WHILE* ago about having a CAA convention in California for example, and I know a few good 10-12 (roughly) members whom are local to California....same could go for other states and such.....
But such would take a while, a good while to plan, and there would have to be a meeting place, RSVP-ing, something for all of us to do (Not all of us can dance, or know another CAA member that well to be they're escort for the night), eh, lots of things to take account for.
However, I don't think it's an issue of impossibility, just a matter of how big CAA gets, if it ever does turn into a publishing house for christian manga, things like that, but maybe just maybe in time this will be a possibility.

It would be nice chance for everyone to strut around and show off their knowledge of etiquette...
The only problem is that I seriously doubt most of the people here (or in the world, for that matter) know the first thing about how to act at the type of event of which you are speaking.
I would prefer a more informal gathering, one where we could enjoy the things that actually brought us together in the first place (anime, Christianity, movies, music, games, etc.).
Besides, there would be the problem of finding escorts (and people to escort). There is a cluster of people in their teens, with a small number of regulars in their 20's, and a rather significant decrease after that. Undoubtedly some people would be left out.

It isn't impossible.. ^^ All you need is some money and a place to meet.. ^^ I have always had a dream, I would go from place to place seeing meh friends from online and they would come and go with meh from state to state.. ^^ And we could meet one another and the last place we would have a huge party.. ^^ Silly I know.. but a Dream that I wish could happen..

hm. Makes me think of Phantom of the Opera. And yes...informal is best for first getting to know people. And requiring escorts.....is a sensitive subject. I've been to events where people have a tendency to rub it in everyone else's face.

Or, in some cases, have any wish to act in such a world in the first place. I also feel your preference would be better suited.
However, the logistics of this are rather difficult. We come from numerous countries at different places of the globe. Many of us are college students and, consequently, rather poor. Not to be a naysayer, but the chances of this occuring under normal circumstances are rather dismal. That isn't to say we can't dream, but I personally won't.

Well, I hadn't been intending to make this a definite suggestion, just day-dreaming, but if may, I certainly don't think it's impossible, at least, not all of it.
I grant you that for such an event to happen in reality it would have to be smaller and more local, catering to specific areas. Where the etiquette is concerned, it's simple. The point would not be t have a reproduction of period behaviour but instead to take the principles which govern good, godly, honourable and respectful behaviour and apply them both generally and specifically in a modern fashion. That is, CAA could come up with it's own etiquette, it's own form of conduct. With a resource such as CAA, it would be possible to find out those who would be attending by RSVP, and then to create an etiquette for the evening. Saying not only what will and wont be expected, but also some specifics for the evening - the way people should address one another, perhaps certain appropriate gestures, and phrases. You could have som fun with it, and by stating it in advance everyone would have a chance to chime in, and get themselves 'into character'. The matter of manners and etiquette is not to make a show of elaborate historical behaviour, (certainly not showing-off) but instead to consider others before oneself, to show the utmost respect, for men to treat all women as ladies, in purity and respect as sisters and as daughters of the King, and women to treat men as 'sirs', sons and knights fo the King, with respect and modesty.
Where escorts are concerned, that of course presents some difficulties, but if parties are willing, perhaps the best way to approach it is, after RSVPing, communicating between the parties, and then arranging for all the ladies and gentlemen to meet at the event, perhaps with a formal ceremony where partners could introduce themselves to one another and present themselves to the crowd. If it was all kept within the event I think that would minimise and fears and risks.
All of this would be optional, up to the planners, of course. As would be the dancing. Although should it be desired, I don't see why it couldn't be possible to have one or two set dances, where by everyone could be taught a simple dance, and all could participate in the coordinated event.
Informal is easier for a lot of people. If the CAA event was made a weekend, then it could begin with the Ball or end with it, and other activities arranged for the rest of the weekend. Perhaps if it was done in a hotel, everyone could gather throughout one day, then perhaps some kind of informal gathering to make introduction and break the ice. Well I know that I'd have trouble seeing as how I live out in the boonies of South Carolina. I don't know nothin' 'bout no etiquette or how to be, you know, etiquette...
But I like the idea of meeting up in Heaven. Wouldn't that be something? If you wanna find me when we all get up there I'll be the one running around shouting at the top of my lungs. (Though I expect many will be doing that...)
