Take Me and Make Me
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

You are the water to make me grow
You are the food for my soul
Take me and plant me
Plant me where it seems
Like hope is lost
So I may show the world
That wherever You place a hand
You’ll always be there
That wherever You are
Hope is still there

You are the hope
That makes dreams come true
You are the breath
That makes old lives new

O Lord let me be the mirror
The mirror that shows the love
The love that You have for those
In this heartless world
Let me be the window
The window to the hope
That shows that dreams really do come true
Even to a generation of a sleepless, dreamless world
That will one day see its doom

You are the one
The one to save us
The one to make us one with You
The one that knows what is truly true
You are our everything
So open our eyes to let us see
So we can see Your awesomeness

O Lord do Your work in me
Shine through me
For all those in this world to see
Make me strong
Then tear me down
Only to make me new
I come willingly
I will do all things for You

So take me and make me
Make me broken to you

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close[/color]

So, do you have any more poems that you'd be willing to post?
