New question

Postby The Doctor » Mon Jul 25, 2005 2:41 pm

Hey, I have a question:

Anyone here interested in a online forum where Christians band together to discuss how we can change the entertainment world and get involved in making art?

I would be interested, but I'm not sure whether I'd have time to be an active member in a second forum.

It's a thought...but CAA is growing so much and there are already so many plans in place I highly doubt they can fit such a thing into their plans or timeframe.

In all honesty, it's most unlikely that I'll participate in another forum. Aren't we already trying to do that here in CAA? Guess it depends on what you mean by 'Art' and how you envision this plan to change the entertainment world.

Yes. Are you going to make one?

This is a good idea, but yes, like most people, I do not have enough time as things are already. Also, to the best of my knowledge there seems to be no academic course in Christian colleges which teaches you how to analyse and critque anime, gaming, manga/comics and other aspects of this sub-culture from a Christian perspective. I guess it must still be relatively new in the sense that there are no professors qualified to teach in this category.

But I am hopeful that I can be corrected in this, because then I'd be interested in learning some course on this topic.

I'm already involved in making art, but I might be interested in talking to other Christians about how to glorify God with my art without making it "churchy," if that makes any sense. I'm a sculptor, and I sculpt mainly animals and fantasy. I'm not sure what type of art you were thinking of, though... When you say the "entertainment world" it makes me think you're not talking about the old traditional mediums.
