cheap graphics tablets

..you know, I have a very visual mind. And, truly, that just made me visualise cutting into my own tablet with a craft knife. It was... awful. @_@ . I can't bear to imagine doing that to my tablet.

It sounds like a good idea - to use a piece of paper - I guess to add resistance to the pen as it moves, am I right? Does it have any severe impact on the pressure-sensitivity, though?

The guy that did that is a comic artist..I assume it takes a long time and a lot of use. The resistance is nice and I don't think it damages pressure sensitivity.

Actually, I have a 4x6. It's not so bad, and it works better on my cluttered desk at the moment. The larger pad will come when I have more surface area to work with (i.e., when I move out of this cramped apartment).

I think I've mentioned that I have a 9x12 tablet. It takes up a lot of space but it works for me. ^__^

I've tried working with a tablet PC and it didn't seem as much fun as I thought. I almost want to say that drawing on-screen is overrated but hey, I'll wait and see for the technology of tablets PC to improve. XD;;; I still prefer drawing on good old paper more than anything.

i wish i i had sme good graphix stuff but all i have is regular paint shop. oh well at least i can still draw

Oh gosh, I LOVE my tablet! I much prefer drawing on the computer than paper... get to use that handy "undo" button and all.

I have a Graphire3 and it works great for me. I've had it for over a year and the surface isn't scratched at all, and I haven't been using paper over it or anything.

I would highly advise against getting the 4x5in size, even though it is cheaper. I have it and it doesn't hinder me too much when I'm drawing, but using the mouse with it is annoying because you have such a small space that the mouse doesn't work outside of. Fork over the extra cash and get at least a 6x8.
