Anime Hit List!

The new year is coming up! What anime does everyone plan on buying next year? For me, the ones at the top of my list are:

Tenchi OAV (Haven't seen this one in YEARS)
Trigun (I figure I'll give it a shot since everyone here has been raving about it)
Full Metal Panic (Maybe; I've read a little bit of the manga and am interested in it)
Ranma 1/2 (Seven seasons, an OAV and several movies; This is going to take me a LONG time to collect)
Sonic X (The rest of the Japanese DVD's as they are released)

1.Robotech-They are more affordable than ever!
2.Yu Yu Hakusho-Why did toonami cut it short right before the end?!
3.Dragonball (not Z/GT)-great series, despite all of the derision it receives from anime lovers and haters alike.

What I want to get, as soon as possible... but I want to feel a little more secure as far as money before I get... or possibly recieve as a gift... DEFINITELY -

"Haibane Renmei" DVD volumes 2 - and up until the end of the series. I know that it's 13 episdoes long... I've spoiled myself on what happens by reading episode summaries at a site... MUST ... !ACTUALLY SEE! the rest of the series.

I'm not really planning on buying anything else in the next year, but I think I'd like to have "Last Exile" and "Wolf's Rain"... if they come out here... I've only heard of them... and I've seen one fansubbed episode of "Wolf's Rain" and liked it.

Also, something that I'm planning to get, albiet burned for me to computer CDs by a friend since it's legal to do so since it has not been picked up yet by an American company... I need to send my friend the CDs so she can burn and mail to me..."Scrapped Princess"... so... hey, I might be getting to watch that pretty soon! :grin:

It depends on what is released in the US next year. I'm planning on buying the rest of the .Hack//SIGN series. I might pick up the first DVD of Mao-chan, if it gets good reviews here at CAA.

If Galaxy Angel is released in the US I'll probably look into buying that. Scrapped Princess is a possibility, as well.

I am *SUPPOSED* to be cutting back, but that doesn't mean a man can't dream, ne?

- Robotech. Childhood memories.
- Voltron; same thing.
- The rest of UY -- still have to complete the TV series, and I only have one of the movies, and none of the OAVs.
- Any Ranma rarities.
- Complete Maison Ikkoku. (Box set 2 on the way.)
- Maybe a Bebop box set?

Man, this is an expensive list already.

next year, I'm going to get Sailormoon volumes 1 and 2, and I'm going to try to get all of Onegai Teacher (well, except for the special 13th ep, I think it's just fine without it, especially since I've already seen it once and don't need to see it again... I don't think I'll be getting onegai twins though... -_-

Oh, and I may try to get either Lain or Boogipop, but I gotta make sure I'm getting a legit US release, which is very hard...

If Piano gets a stateside release other than a TV altered thing where they change storyline (and, I doubt that would happen... Piano is tamer than Grave of the Fireflies, at least the eps I saw)

Hmm... Oh, Haibane Renmei (I almost called it "Haibane Shadsie, thanks a lot!) I would like to see the rest of that one... I dont' have that on my list yet!

What I want:
-Sailor Moon first season box set
-More Gensomaden Saiyuki (7 more dvds until it finishes, also the manga)
-Fruits Basket (manga and anime)
-Getbackers (manga)
-Trigun (manga)
-Hellsing (manga)
-Pretear

and later, if I have the money:
-Wolf's Rain (I've seen about half the series fansubbed and love it)
-Groove Adventure Rave (I've seen the whole series fansubbed, but I'd love to have a higher quality version of it... if they don't release it in like 3 episodes a disc... it is 51 episdoes)

Well, the anime at the top of my list are the rest of Angelic Layer and Last Exile. I got the first Last Exile dvd last week and then found out the vol. 2 isn't scheduled to come out till Feb!! Geh! I so want to know more about that series.
Further down on my list I'd like to eventually get the rest of Trigun. I think I need like 3 more dvds. I've also thought I might like to have the Slayers seasons 1 and 2 dvd box sets, but it's not a priority.

Well, at the top of my list is Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta, although I'm not sure if I'll go ahead and get the subtitled box set or wait for the individual dub/sub volumes to come out later in the year...

Also, I plan on finishing out Sailor Moon S and SuperS, getting Miyazaki's Porco Russo, and although I doubt they get around to it in 2004, I'm really looking forward to Jubei-Chan 2!

Also, I'm gonna try and check out Marmalade Boy, but I'm not really sure what it's all about. I've heard it's a classic, though. I'll rent the first disc before a purchase, if I can. And I also wanna try Comic Party to see if it's any good.

Ooh, in addition to the games, I would love to get the entire .hack//sign series and also I, My, Me Strawberry Eggs

Oh, and I hope to someday see Sailor Stars and Kodomo no Omocha gracing my shelves... Legitamately, of course. But, alas, I don't see that happening in the near future...
