my friend's sister met her husband on there, so it can't be said that it's totally useless... but still, I wouldn't go by it.

Besides, you need to wait before seeing someone new!

Back before I met my wife..I went through a time in my life where I had a real case of bad luck in finding a christian woman who I got along with on any level...
I've used pretty much every online dating thing there was...
I wouldn't suggest it. :) Often times there will be fake pictures and advertisements...all the sites claim that all their people are real..but it's never true.

Best bet is church groups. :)

Well I'm kind of young for that and I don't use it or anything, but do not be bias against eharmony. It is owned by a christian guy like Volt said, it is not one of those dumb dating sites.

kewl, founded by a Christian guy... but not everyone you find on that site will be a Christian.

Honestly, folks, online dating works. It is very risky though. It's hard to guage someone's spiritual strength online, and that should be the second priority in finding a mate... the first being that we make sure that they're not the same gender as you.

It's fine. You can take the profile for free.

I joined but it hasn't done anything for me. A lot of people you get matched with may not be signed up. So they'll never answer your questions. But some people will be.

It seems very safe. There are several stages you go through before you can write any personal messages to your match.
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

You kind of have to be serious to join it, because there are so many rules, it wouldn't be worth it to join just for flirting, etc. That may be why so many people seem to not sign up after taking the original profile...

I know that my Pastor's daughter married a really nice christian guy she met on E Harmony, so I think it must have some merit.

It has found 5 people in the over a year I've had my profile on there... Two of them pulled immediately, and the other three... Well, a couple looked interesting, but it's a hefty price tag... And, out of three hoping that one has the service and is mutually interested... It's very risky... If you are, say, in your mid-twenties or so and really want to get married soon, I'd say do it. Put your location limiter thing to, say, 100 miles (You got a car, don't you?) and be very specific in the profile thing that you want a Christian, and so forth... If you find your spouse on there, it would be very worth the money... I just can't afford that right now.

EDIT: Of course, when I say "people" I mean "girls". I've got that "gender neutral" thing so ingrained into me... Stupid PC culture...

Its not that I'd have a hard time finding a girl... its having an impossible time finding a girl i'd like. Maybe online dating isn't so bad.

I`m not old enough to worry about this stuff. Besides, early teen relationships last like 3 months. Not going online for that.

I've actually wondered about that site myself... Not that I would join, but if the results were really that good. Personally I see nothing wrong with it, but unless y'all meet it's kind of pointless and waste of time to online date. Although I proabably wouldn't do it, I can't say for people not to. THough I shouldn't say never, because who knows? If it works for many, it works. If not, whatever.

Yeah, that's true.

One point to note is that I believe there is an age requirement. I might be wrong, but it seemed to me that they wanted to know if I was 18 or older. So if I'm right the younger members here wouldn't get any use out of it anyway.

Personally I will never use and internet service to find my wife. God'll take care of it. (Although if He directs me to eHarmony, I'm going to be a bit of a liar. )

ts like this, god will help you find the one, so if he directs you towards eharmony then thats that, if he directs you within your church groups then thats that. so yeh Eharmony can or cant work for you depending on gods will

I couldn't agree with you more, Volt. Too many people make fun of the ways people can meet, whether it's friends or someone who becomes close to your heart. God can use ANYTHING to bring ANYONE together, if He so wills it.

I found that the online dating thing wasn't for me, personally. I think it's the fact that I was LOOKING for something that maybe God felt I wasn't ready for. When I'm ready, God will find His own way to bring that person to me, no matter how odd the method may seem.

I think it just depends on the person. I don't discount or make fun of anyone who would use these things...but I'd like to point out that unless GOD feels the time is right for you to meet someone...don't expect anything. And honestly....we can't possibly know what God's thinking.
