Dear Journal,
We went swimming this morning and had a really great time. First we went in the indoor pool which was really warm. We were the only ones there. The lukewarmness of the pool did creep me out, but the dense concentration of chlorine in the water showed that the workers here know how to keep the little munchkins at bay.
We then went to the Pagoda/Waterfall pool which I think is the best. It’s the one I can see from our balcony.
The hot tub is really awesome. It is a harsh contrast to the cold, frigid temperature of the surrounding pool.
It was really odd, however, when these parents were talking condescendingly to their daughter on the patio that surrounded the pool. This girl was in her late teens and it was obvious that she was upset and her father was speaking hushed, angry words at her. I don’t understand why some people can’t just take those matters to their rooms… honestly.
Well we are about to go to the art museum and after that we are going to see/listen to an open-air concert before we watch fireworks. I wish my friends were here to enjoy this too.
With all due respect,
John T. Mathis

Dear Journal,
The art museum was quite an experience. The bridge over the street was made partially of a sort of Plexiglas material that you could walk on.
This bridge led up to the museum and it was both frightening and exhilarating to walk over the bridge and be able to look straight down at passing cars as we made our way towards the museum.
All of the pieces in the museum were, indeed, American. The one thing that disappointed me was the fact that the people there would not allow me to take any photographs.
The exhibits I think I enjoyed the most were the glass and pottery work ( I absolutely love all things having to do with glass!)
After the museum we came back to the hotel to rest before going to see the concert and the fireworks.
We left the hotel to eat before the concert and decided on Long John Silvers. The food was ok.
We dropped Nana off at “The Summitâ€
