How did you discover CAA?

Postby Cognitive Gear » Wed Jul 06, 2005 12:32 pm

One of the threads in the welcome arena made me think of how I stumbled across caa, and how suprised I was when I found it. It also made me wonder how other members found this.

I found it through randomly deciding to google search christian anime. Oh, how suprised and blessed I was when I clicked on the first link and was directed to the CAA main page. I have been continually blessed through this ministry since.

(Sorry if there is already an existing thread for this, I did a search but couldn't find anything.)
[font="Tahoma"][SIZE="2"]"It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

It was either through a link in a thread on the AnimeNation message board or through Google. It's been so long I can't remember for sure.

I searched for "Christian Manga reviews" (or was it Christian Anime Reviews?) and got this site. Unfortunately it was down for a week since they were moving to a new server.

Ah, me? I wrote this in the History of CAA, but I`ll write it again.

There was this article in "Plugged-In" magazine about how most anime was bad that isn`t designed for little ids and they advertised a website called animeangels.com.

So I went there, I found it kinda confusing so I clicked on this little banner that links you to different sites and CAA was one of them so I clicked and saw all the stuff. I just looked around for a few months, and January 2005 I finally decided to join and I`ve been here ever since.

Haha! I was googling for Christian anime reviews.

And behold!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I beat you all. God told me about CAA.

In all seriousness though, I love hearing how people came here. It tells me where we are most effective, what areas we can further reach out to, and above all, the wonder and goodness of our Lord as He brings more to our fellowship. ^^

Amen. I think that takes the cake ;) .

I'm one of the googlers - I started becoming interested in the anime style of drawing, wanted to find some Christian perspectives... google searched Christian+Anime and clicked on the first link. :)

Well, my sis CreatureArt searched for 'christian anime', found CAA, and joined. I managed to hold myself back for a couple of months before finally giving in and joining too. ;) I've enjoyed myself ever since.

<Edit>Woah! CA, we were on at the same time, viewing the same thread. :eh: That doesn't happen often. ^_^

So here I am! :)
