Anime Expo, anyone?

I just went to get my badge for AX. (I pre-reged) They turned me away because they closed it early.

I realized it wouldn't be very fun to drive at least three to four hours round trip just to spend two hours at night at Anaheim, so I will bleed out some extra cash to shell out the one-day entrance fee. I am making very tight calculations for how much money I need to spend for AX. I won't go into details, but it certainly is more than a guy who has no income would care to spend in a single day. Suffice it to say, I won't buy any $6 boxes of Pocky (especially since I can buy it, or the equivalent (actually better) Yan Yan for much cheaper at either 99 Ranch or Seafood City). Too bad that my new job doesn't start till the next week.

Just got back from the first day of AX.

I stayed for the AMV competion, and dang, some of those AMV's were awsome.
Hopefully I'll be able to find them online soon.

Just returned from my first day at AX 2005... I hate the stupid registration lines...

Anyway, I'm thinking that Bride of Berserk and the 1985 songs were my favorites. I can't wait to show them to my friends who couldn't make it.

So... I guess I'll be seeing you guys tomorrow. I really can't wait. I'm so excited to meet you all! In case any of you wanted to know, I'll be wearing a haori, shorts, and a black t-shirt with sandals tomorrow. Also, my nickname on my badge is the same as my screen name.

This may or may not be the last time I can check into CAA before I arrive tonight, so just a reminder to those people with my cell number, don't call it before 5pm (I'll still be rounding in the hospital so I won't have it on, and my voice mail is not reliable). With luck the census is low, so I can finish and get out of there at a reasonable time to do battle with the Riverside Fwy (sighs). mechana, I'll probably call you on my way over.

I'm a bit curious, but AnimeExpo is held annually, correct? So next year, will almost everyone here be attending again..? ^__^;; I'm asking fairly early because I have a group of friends who are currently planning a trip to Mexico from June 24th to July 14th, 2006. If there's a chance of meeting a few CAA members I'm familiar with, I'll skip out on that and buy tickets for AX 2006. *__*;;

I picked up a display sword from the swordsonline booth. (a $30 Last Samurai katana)

I plan to find a sword for each year that I go. (No, this one is not for serious use - it's for making a sword rack look useful. As in, a memento of being at AX.)
