One of my best friends is a Pk. And my parents are both bible study leaders and youth group leaders. And I run the creche at church XD.

I'm a PK, too. My dad's only been a preacher for about 15 years or so, so I wasn't raised as one.

A question to all pastor kids out there, did you ever feel pressured to be better than you are? Like you aren't being good enough for a pastor's kid? I've often wondered about this... I think it would be very hard being a PK.

I never felt that pressure, but looking back on my childhood I think it's very possible that I was just too socially inept to recognize social pressure.

Yep, My Dad`s a pastor at Calvary Chapel in Boston. Well, he`s one of the pastors since there are 4 pastors in the whole church.

I don`t think of myself as a PK but more as a TO. When I say TO I don`t mean:

Well put me on the list. My father has been a pastor since he was 17, and he has pastored about 8 different churchs, before being called to the church we are now, which is a wonderful church. :grin:

I'm a PPK...Presbyterian Preacher's Kid. :lol:
My ggg grandfather was a BPK...Baptist Preacher's kid although his father
didn't become a preacher until later on in life.Also one of my ggg grandfather's maternal aunts married the Rev.David Barrow a Baptist
preacher and SOUTHERN ABOLITIONIST.
My dad's oldest brother was also a Presbyterian minister.Also one of
my ancestors...William Rittenhouse,is considered the first Mennonite
minister in America.

As far as pressure to be good...NAH!Never felt like I was any different
from anyone else.

Oh,yeah and also my Irish gg grandfather Thomas L. Studdert Kennedy was
an Anglican Preacher's Kid as his father was the Very Rev.Robert M. Kennedy the Dean of Clonfert.

So I am not only a PK but also have had ancestors on both sides who were in the ministry. :lol:

As a matter of fact, I am. YOU'RE FROM GA?!

As for Talame's question, I've definitely felt like that before. It's up and down sometimes, but generally I do not feel like that. In fact, the sad stereotype that I've heard of, and always get asked about, is that pastor's kids are worse than other kids, so...I think I've done alright. I'm trying.

It's disturbing to me, and says something about their home life, I think. It boggles my mind to see kids who hear about Jesus and they learn so much of the scriptures and they simply ignore it or something. The flip side that I've heard of, and like I said about home life, is that in a few situations I've heard of, the pastor's kids rebel because they see their parents acting differently than they do at church and displaying severe hypocrisy. That's also sad. So...yeah. That's sad, all around. Your original question was a very good question to ask, though, thanks. It made me stop and think about that.

I'm a PK... yeeeeahhh But I don't like the term Pastor's Kid.... because I am too old to be a kid now... So I would rather be called a Pastor's Son.... hrmm... so cunfuzzeling.... So uhh... who's up for tacos?
The Straight and Narrow

I chose to walk the straight and narrow road, but one day I lost balance and fell off it. I had fallen onto some sharp rocks and injured myself. There were people passing by who would merely stare at me, and then keep walking. Thoughts of worthlessness entered into my mind, and as I chose to believe the lies, my wounds grew worse. Yep. "Georgia on my mind", man. ^-^

I think many of those cases seem to come from a preacher who a) doesn't teach the right thing in his own church, b) doesn't give time to his family, or c) his kids just get tired of hearing it so much.
Sometimes I feel like C, but I know it's just Satan trying to pull me away (and that jerk pulls hard).

It's kinda funny, though. The pastor of our church use to pastor the one we're at now (unfortunately, the church we were at is kinda falling apart now).
And the last pastor here had some issues, but I believe my dad is doing God's will here in a fantastic way.

Hmmm...I dont' think I've ever felt pressure from being a pastor's kid before. My church is really laid back (I wear jeans some Sundays), so I've never felt that I had to dress or act a certain way. My parents also never made me do anything like that, so that's cool! ^_^ I just feel like a regular person.
