Why am I still awake?

Postby Heed » Tue Jun 21, 2005 10:19 pm

Well, it's about 1:18 am and I really don't feel like going to bed just yet but there is nothing left to do... Can anyone give me some really cool things to do online? Maybe some cool original sites or something fun to do? I don't feel like playing my game cube or watching a movie.... I am drawing blanks...

At least I don't have to work for the next 2 days *yay* Ok, well, I am gonna quit before this post gets too pointless in my sleepy mindless dilussion.
The Straight and Narrow

I chose to walk the straight and narrow road, but one day I lost balance and fell off it. I had fallen onto some sharp rocks and injured myself. There were people passing by who would merely stare at me, and then keep walking. Thoughts of worthlessness entered into my mind, and as I chose to believe the lies, my wounds grew worse. I was so overcome with grief that I nearly gave up... but then a man walked up to me and stopped. Without saying a word, he started to wrap my wounds, he gave me some water, and then lifted me up and embraced me. He then whispered these words into my ear, "I love you my child." As he said those words I could feel all the worthlessness and despair fall away. He then held out his hands. They had huge holes in them. He then said, "Walk with me." I then took his hand and we walked together. Every now and then I would fall from the road, but no matter where I fell, he was always there to pick me up and tell me that He loved me.

Try to go to sleep. If you feel "disconnected" from your body, you ought to rest. That's what I assume you feel since you are in a mindless delusion. Sleep. Now.

Sleep is bad. Fall in coma if you must, but never voluntarily fall asleep!

Fun thing to do? Not much at night, get that music up and dance like you're alone!

MY sleep cycle is geared way different than most. I can never fall asleep before my body lets me. I could lay in bed for hours before I get a bit sleepy. If you dont have to be at work in the morning or school, do somthing else untill your sleepy. As for me, I work at places that support my habbit if staying up late. I work late shift most of the time.

Yeesh, my bed time is 9 - 10 p.m., and look at me, I'm awake at 1:52 in the morning. I used to do all-nighters and stay energetic all the next day, but now.. I'm exhausted. I sleep!

Ah ha. You'll make a fantastic college student. Your drive (and ability O.o) to sleep at normal times evaporates that summer between high school and college.

Anyway, have you tried reading webmanga? I have a ton of great links I check out when I'm bored (which is rare--usually I'm here at CAA updating the review database or something). You definately ought to at LEAST check out Inverloch--www.seraph-inn.net

*mumbles something that sounds a heck of a lot like "scanlations", but definitely isn't Osaka saying "scanlations."*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Lately my own sleep cycle has been gotten atuned to staying up until 2 a.m. and waking up around 7 a.m.Mostly due to the Evil Dictators Of Anime
Scheduling known as Adult Swim!
Oh and Fridays I can't get to sleep without watching Gundam Seed and
.hack//legend. :thumb:
Some times I do fall asleep though and wake up half way through a different show.Like last Saturday I dozed off way through Trigun and found that they
already had restarted the week's Inuyasha ep.
Oh..well..maybe if it were a Kagome or Sango ep.I'd have stayed up and watched it through again.

I don't have Cartoon Network so no Adult Swim for me. Cable is too expensive...

I don't even want to talk about my sleep schedule. A bored mind and an internet connection can be dangerous. It's always good to do something creative or beneficial, like draw, write, or whatever. Heck, go learn some Japanese or something. http://www.japanese-online.com

Or you could do something mindless and fun, like at http://www.homestarrunner.com

In the mood for some free Java-based MMORPG action? http://www.runescape.com

You could download some AMV's - http://www.animemusicvideos.org

I'm running out of ideas...

One movie it's impossible to fall asleep after watching is:
INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS.
I mean it's hard not to stay awake if you think some alien pod creature is about to take over your body!
Superman only slept for 2 hours per night.(Source:The Death And Life
Of Superman)Then again he wasn't really from around here either!
And just how much sleep does Bruce Wayne/Batman get?Anyone ever
thought of that?
But seriously if you're having trouble falling asleep just don't try to fight it.
It'll only make things worse in the end.

Start taking inventory of all the anime related stuff you have and then if you still are awake start to take inventory of evertying you own.
