CAA Pyro club

Postby Slater » Thu Jun 23, 2005 9:33 pm

Do you enjoy playing with fire, sticking things in bonfires, or shooting off fireworks and/or firecrackers?

Do you laugh in the faces of pyrophobes?

Is the smell of smoke your personal favorite inscence flavour?

Have you burnt different materials just to note what colour flame it makes?

If you could have a sword that represented any element, would yours be of Fire?

If you answered yes to more than one of the above questions, then you deserve to join the CAA Pyro club! Let us know who you are by posting here!

Hello, my name is Lorentz, and I am a pyromaniac.

Ever since I was a little kid I loved burning things. In fact, petrol is probably my favouritest smell next to charcoal smell. Nothing beats charcoal smell.

I burnt enough things to not just tell the colour, but know what's burning by scent as well. For example, silicon smells quite similar to plastic, except it's much stronger, closer to "burnt". Quite different to wood, wood is much more natural. I guess it's like the difference of bleach and white dye.

You might have guessed, but the favouritest thing I love burning is electronic equipment, especially when they're powered on while at it. Kinda makes really cool effects.

Oh yeah, I have a stash of explosives in my room, and also knows many ways to create explosives. There's one reason why I learnt chemistry. Flamethrowers are my specialty, as well as rockets. I love rockets. Oh, and tazers.

Well, that's it for me! Hope I can join this club :)

Hello everyone. I am 16 and I am a pyromaniac as well. My dark secret is out.

I managed to set the kitchen on fire when I was eight with a toaster. (only a few weeks before we were going to sell the house, too....). Seriously.

Things just went downhill from there and now, after my Dad, I'm the one that tends our fires at home, restarts them on cold mornings from a few dull embers and nutures fire-crackers into spark-spitting glory!

I'm just glad that there are others out there ;) .

My dad, I've been told by my mom, used to be a pyro. I'm a little too cautious to do much beyond finding out what's susceptible to magnifying glasses. I'm sure i'd love burning random stuff (electronic equipment??) if I knew for sure it wouldn't leave a crater in the driveway!

I don't know if I'm allowed in this thread because ever since (always) I've been scared of fire. For camps in cubs and scouts and would even refuse to start the fire with the matches. To this day I haven't lit a fire, using matches and not scared myself. I try to do it as rarely as I can. I'm fascinated by fire, but always have these images of houses burning down in the vicinity of a fire or whatever (darn news and newspapers).

My bros love fire and played with it all the time, it really freaked me out when they did that.

I love messing around with wax and candles. During the hurricane season last year, I entertained myself by lighting Q-tips on fire and spelling my name with them. All that stopped when my little brother tipped a candle over and set the living room table on fire - in the middle of the storm too! It ruined a really great custom-made tablecloth!

Hmm... I used to douse green plastic army men in isopropyl alcohol, put them on top of a napkin soaked in said alcohol, and light said napkin on fire. To top it off, I sprayed the pyre with Lysol.

Does that count?

I am one of the worst pyros alive. I set my sweatshirt on fire once. It wouldn't have been so bad, except I was wearing it at the time. I also enjoy playing with hot wax from candles.

Hello. I am a pyro.

I actually used to be terrified of fire until I was around 10 or so. Now I like burning anthills, and pretty much anything, just to see what happens. Styrofoam is fun, but I think it's bad for the environment or something.

I think mine is genetic, since my Dad taught me how to burn anthills and once accidentally burned half of our backyard and the neighbor's yard. The neighbor is my band director.

Burning old stuff (letters, notes, etc.) is very cathartic. :D

I believe I'm classified as a pyro. Fire is fun. My pyromaniacal hobbies include lighting matches and throwing them at things(much to my mom's chagrin), lighting as many candles in the house as possible, clicking a lighter on and off in fascination, lighting the fireplace just for fun, etc.

In the past, my brother(also a pyro) and I tied tons of Black Cats to my pink bike that had been hit by a car, and put it out of its misery. It barely resembles a bike, now. Also, we have a tradition every 4th of July where we find old toys in our closets and burn/explode/melt them to nothingness. Oh yeah, I also set the toaster on fire once. It was cool. :eh:

yep, that counts very well!

One of my old buddies went to a gas station and filled some empty water bottles with gasoline (don't do it, it's not safe), and we had hours of fun with that.

Also, a few years back when bonfires were legal on the beach (apparently they aren't anymore ;_; ), a group of my friends and I made a bonfire that could be seen about 20 miles down the road. Twas very hot. Twas very kewl ;)

Fire pretty.

Not sure I count as a pyro, however.

napaaaaaalm......

A friend of mine found a lighter somewhere and carried it around for a long long time, until it ran out. I think he went through two lighters like that.

My grandparents own a cabin on the river, and we have a bonfire there every time we go down. This year we have PLANS for the bonfire, some of those plans being for the purpose of catharsis.

The people next door at the river always buy these huge fireworks that are barely legal and set them off for July 4th. I like that holiday.

I have a love hate relationship with fire... when I'm controlling it/it's under control I love it. I take pictures of it, and whenever I'm around it i mess with it. I used to shave the phosphorus off match heads and stufff it in the cab of matchbox cars, douse it in rubbing alcohol and light it.

If it's out of control I hate it though... always have.

I do watch movies just for the explosions though.

I used fire to destroy a photograph I kept on my desk. Watching it burn and become reduced to ashes was a sign of satisfaction.

You know, I hate to sound too angry here, but if you're going to tack on "CAA" onto something, I'd appreciate it if you would at least ASK me. It's not like it's my site or anything. I'm sorry but I'm REALLY getting sick of people doing whatever the heck they want and tacking the words "official CAA whatever" on it. How about a little consideration next time? :shady:

;-; you make the pyro raccoon cry

I honestly put like less than 2 seconds thought into the title of this thread. All I wanted was something short that indicated that it was going to be for the collective grouping of pyros who are residents of this forum, not something offensive

Perhaps I did lash out, and for that I apologize. I guess it's just a real pet peeve of mine. Honestly guys, I'm really not super stingy about it...I just...if it has CAA in the title, it means I'm responsible for it. So I like to know what's being doled out. In the future just drop me a PM--I promise I won't bite anyone's head off and I'll probably at least appreciate you asking me.
