I guess mine would be Elijah. He was outnumbered by so many Baal worshippers, but with God's help he acheived two great spiritual victories against Ahab--the drought, and the contest between his God and the priests of Baal. Furthermore, he was cool enough that he left this world without dying.

Hmm, that's very tough. Maybe Moses, since he was kind of a representation of the Messiah to come, and God obviously used him for many extra incredible things.

You simply can't pick Moses. He's too kewl, it's not fair
for me, it's a tie between Elijah and Elisha (or Elias, if you prefer). I just went through the books of the Kings and they PWNED. Makes me grateful to be a prophet. Who else can call a pair of bears to maul fourty-some-odd bratty kids?

If you read "The Case for Faith," one of the interviewees said that "youths" was a described a pretty broad age range (preteens to thirties). Furthermore, the connotations behind the "youths'" jeers were nastier than meets the eye. 1). They denied Elisha's status as a prophet and 2). they were threatening his life. When you consider that these she-bears killed some grown, violent men, it's all the more amazing.

Yeah, thats a great part of the Bible! I love all the rarer known stories like that and the axehead that gets lost, is prayed about and then floats to the surface. Should make a thread on the more Unusual Bible stories!

*blinks* The Authorized Translation of the Bible uses the term "little children" in 2 Kings 2:23. It's kinda doubtful that they were 30 years old.

when it comes to faith.
2)Because David was already picked and I wanted to be original here.
3)Because he was one of the most human of all those mentioned in Hebrews 11
and still he was in his own way faithful to God.
4)Because his story gives one a good excuse NOT to get a haircut!:)
5)Because and to be totally honest,I find him one of the most interesting of all
the Old Testament Saints.
