got my nose pierced

got my nose pierced today. with my friend jenna. you wanna know what happened? alright. Came home, asked jenna if she wanted to go with me. she came over, and we drove up to milford with my dad to get it pierced. after a whiile trying to find the friggin place, we finnally find it. we go in and they tell me i need ID and stuff. so we hafta drive aaaaaaaallll the way back home to get it. then we drive alllll the way back up, and we go in there. the whole time, my dad is kinda like ....'ehh......' cause he can usually sense spiritual disturbances.... i asked him what was wrong...but he kinda...didnt respond, but put a cross over my nose. he didnt really like the place. i could tell it wasnt the...best place ever. there was def. a disturbance..caue im sensitive to those things. but i kinda shruged it off. i was soooo nervous. i got it pierced, it didnt hurt, everything went fine.

then i stood up.

i walked over to jenna and i got hit with a wave of dizzyness. i told her i felt dizzy... and i dont remember anything else. apparently i fainted and fell FACE FIRST into a glass table. the glass completely SHATTERED. My dad picked me up and i came out of it and was like..waht happened? and then they sat me down, and i passed out again. which really freaked everyone out cause...i didnt look right. i was out for like...30 seconds or so..but according to everyone else..it seemed like 10 min. >.>

my dad thinks that it was a spiritual attack, because when i fell, 3 different things happened to the three people who went with me, so that they couldnt catch me. Carl's eyes went black while i was falling, so he couldnt see for a minute. all he saw was when i ht the table. my dad thought i was kidding...but he relized i wasnt and it was too late. and my friend jenna got hit with dizzyness and fell against the wall for a minute. but they all saw me hit the table.

when i fainted...i remember i drempt something..but i dont know what it was. all i remmeber was wings.

dont worry. im ok. i only got a couple of really small scratches on my arms. nothing deep. it was the grace of God that im ok. i mean...i fell face, neck, chest first into a glass table, which completely shattered. i could have died.

gosh. im still shooken up. im on the verge of tears..... wow.




im so glad im alive.

but uh yeah. i got it pierced. maybe ..if its ok w/my dad, ill post some pictures. of me nose.... ^^ everyone says it looks nice.

That certainly does sound like a spiritual attack. This may sound a bit old, but the way I grew up I was taught that it was bad to pierce your body, witht he exception of women getting their ears pierced. What does everyone think of this perspective? Is there any Bible verse that says not to pierce yourself?

As to women in the bible getting things pierced, Rebecca received a nose ring as a gift from one of Isaacs servants when God told him she was the one for Isaac, but then the bible also talks against marking and piercing your body like the pagens do, and as far as I know thats pretty much it for body piercing versus that I know off the top of my head.

Wow! That sounds pretty weird. I gues it could've been a spiritual attack. Just remember god is stronger than anything and everything put together Thank God you're ok, too!

The main reasons I can think of for which I would consider body piercing to be a bad thing are:
1) If it's done as a form of self mutilation, anything occult, or to show you belong to something (like a club, as opposed to God)
2) If it's done in rebellion (against parents or something else you should listen to)
3) It might lead to infection
4) Your body is a temple of teh holy spirit; treat it as such (ie, not just poking holes in it wherever/whenever you feel like it)
5) I dont find body piercings very attractive, personally

Infections aren't immediate, they usually take a day or two to show up.

It's possible that you simply stood up too quickly. The one time that I have ever actually blacked out, it was from simply standing up too quickly. From your description of your own condition, that's what it sounds like.

You can't get in trouble with God for getting a piercing. That's not to say that all piercing shops are equal, or that all people who do piercing are equal, just that it won't get you in trouble with God. (Of course, certain piercings (heart, lung, eye, etc.) are certainly inadvisable, but that's for a whole different reason.)

Anyway, what did you put in? (Ring, stud, tassel, chain, extra storage pocket...)

Adding on to what Waffo_Chick1 said... >^^< Basically any place with cartilage on the head (and the ear lobes) is okay to pierce. In many cultures ( Especially those of Africa and Asia) it is common to have the nose pierced. I see many people from Asian countries with their nose pierced. (and you can see other cultures who pierce the nose in books). So I don't think it's bad at all. >^.^< I can't wait to see a picture chibiphonebooth.

Hm...well good thing is you're ok. It could of been just the nervousness from getting it pierced and over-wirred your senses and therefore faintage. But the things that happened to the other people doesn't sound scietifically right...for all the things to happen RIGHT when you fell.

Having cross referenced this metaphorical passage and Genesis 24:47 where Rebekah gets the nose ring in The IVP Bible Background Commentary Old Testament, it seems nose ring is in fact nose ring, and a fancy one at that. The above passage seems to imply that YHWH holds no grudge against them, and that they are percieved as glorifying.

I don't know, but it's pretty creepy...The fact that Chibiphonebooth got dizzy could have been a mix between being too nervous and standing up too quickly...Do you think you were holding your breath when you got it pierced, Chibi? When was the last time you ate before getting it pierced? Those are the only explanations I can think of for your passing out, but the thing about your dad and friends...Well, it's really good that you're ok! ^_^'
