Superpowers in your family

Postby Alice » Fri Jun 17, 2005 4:57 pm

Not real superpowers. Just stuff. Like....

My father's superpower is the ability to know how a TV show or movie will end. He's been wrong, maybe twice that I know of. When he shares what he knows, it knocks your socks off. He either knows the ending to within a pinpoint, or he can tell you one of three ways it will end. (I think he tries not to say anything so he doesn't spoil the ending for others.)

According to my brothers, I have "Cat Radar," the ability to spot cats anywhere. So that's mine.

Any "superpowers" that you people have in your families?

Off the bat, I'd say my dad has the superhuman ability to maintain a train of thought for unusual lengths of time. Often we'll all be talking about something, we'll move onto another topic and an hour later he'll add something to the original topic, making us all think that he's completely random when really, he has a freakishly long attention span and he thinks waaay too much.

Do they use their powers for good or for awesome?

Hmm, well my dad has a really cool power. If he falls asleep on the couch or something, if someone turns off the tv, he instantly wakes up, whether he's facing the tv or not. It won't even matter if he's in a deep sleep or even if the tv's on mute. He always knows. Lol.

LOL.

Yeah, my mom does that with the TV. She can also fall asleep at any movie known to man, including the Star Wars movies she desperately wanted to stay awake for.

My daughter's super power is burping. Really loud. (Especially for a five-year-old). At least, that's what she told me her super power is.

My husband's is sleeping with his eyes open. Really. It's creepy.

My brother can eat 20 dollars worth of food at Taco Bell, and not only will he NOT gain an ounce of weight, he'll also be hungry. I eat a salad and gain 5 pounds. :shady:

My mom has the ability to cry at ANYTHING. And I do mean anything. I think she cried in just about every Disney movie ever made. :eyeroll:

My mother has the uncanny ability to worry over just about anything. She also had the tendency of blowing things out of proportion.

My father has amazing parking skills. Not only can he park his car in the smallest spots ever, there was an incident when he managed to squeeze the car into an empty parking lot that was blocked by some doubleparked car....by reverse driving.

My brother has the ability of escaping any household chore. Guess who ends up with it.

My father than fix anything given the tools. _Anything_. Once had to replace his truck's engine, did it himself after hiring a working garage.

My mother can see behind her.

My sister can... uh... nothing really.

As for myself, well, that's for you to find out ;)

My mom ruins books/movies/anything with a plot all the time because she is excellent at solving mysteries, and feels that it's necessary to tell us what's going to happen next right at the peak of the suspense...o_O

Dad can go for a week without sleeping and still function- sort of. He's the resident zombie. XD

Superchibi, my sister, can con anyone in the world for 25 cents with her amazing cuteness. One time during the California Wildfire, we were evacuated for a week at the church and there was a skittles machine. I kid you not, she got a quarter out of EVERY SINGLE PERSON in that entire church. Chibi ate so many skittles that she got sick and gave the rest to me...

I think I have smart mouth/hothead super powers. It took me most of my life and many bruises before I realized that it wasn't very bright of me to respond to teasing with a punch in the face or a kick to the...well, you know. Older kids liked to pick on me after school because I was feisty and had a terrible temper. I fought as hard as I could to get revenge and sometimes I ended up hurt worse than they did. One time I got in a fight and was nearly strangled by a sixth grader. I don't think he really wanted to kill me, luckily. Even though it was a scary experience, I didn't learn a thing. Now, I realize the error of using violence on impulse. I regret some of the things I did because, well...let's just say they weren't very nice. ^.^;

My dad definitely has immortality for a super power. I dont know how, but the man can survive anything he manages to get himself into...car wrecks, fights, crazy University students, rabid math problems...you name it.

Hmm let me see I have the power to figure out endings of movies before they end...(most of them time when i'm really into it) and when I was younger, I had lighter radar....for some odd reason I of all peopel would be the one to always findone of my mom's lighters in some unusual or unsafe place. But of course I would bring them to her immediately...after the 3rd or 4th tiem she started getting freaked out. I can also mimic just about any sound my cats have made and have the power to call my one female cat, Tiffany, and send her running from just about any hiding place..to me ^^

Oh and my mom's is basically popping out of anywhere and scaring the crap out of me.

and My uncle has fart powers. What i mean liek that..he can fart on the couch and the smell will stay in the pillows for weeks.

My dad has the unique ability to make friends with every single person he comes in contact with. And he's always been able to make us kids stop crying within seconds by making us laugh! Plus he can spot slug-bugs like nobody's business!!

My mom, like almost every mom, has eyes in the back of her head and her super power would be whipping kids into shape when they get outta' line on her time.

KazuValis can give you a smart-crack on command. At least, he used to be able to do that.
Gungrave knows how to have a good time with his friends! It's hysteria at midnight when the three of us get together.

My super power is prolly my memory. I remember stuff from when I was three. Animals are drawn to me too. Well, mostly their snot. My pets think I'm their kleenex.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

I can predict which episodes of syndicated shows will air, and tell if a TV is on within about 50 yards. I can also actively spell out each word in a sentence at rapid, and comb my hair with my feet.
EDIT: Also, if I'm lying on my back and laughing, I can keep laughing for as long as I want.
