What kind of dog is this?

Postby Heart of Sword » Wed Jun 15, 2005 9:34 am

This is my dog, Bandit Misao. I got her from the Pound, she was a stray.

I love her, but there's one little problem. I have no idea what she is! :eh:

Personality-wise, she's *fairly* submissive but has some major attitude problems and tends to be unruly.

Height-wise, she's almost three feet tall.

Other...well, she's around eighty pounds and has massive feet. o_O And her coat's a little wiry, so she's probably got some lab in her. (she is definitely not a purebred though!) She's wolfish, too. A strange dog she is... :?:

Here's a couple of pictures (help would be appreciated...):

A black dog?
If it's mostly wolfish then it must be one of the more recent domestic breads....I don't really now much besides that it's soooo cute^^

Looks like she has part Black Labrador Retriever in her, especially the shape of the head and her height. Except for the upright ears, that's as much as I can identify. I used to have a Black Lab mix myself. I could recognize it easily in your dog.

she looks JUST LIKE my old dog! O_O but I can't remember what my old dog was. . . oh yeah, a mix between a cockerspaniel and a boxer <_< but I don't think that's what yours is

It's a Lab mix too hard to tell any further. I see so many of them everyday.

It looks to me like there's some German Shepherd in there somewhere too. Other than that, all I see is lab. ^^

Hmmm, either a pure bred lab that's SEVERELY underfed, or I'd say it's a lab/ grey hound mix. It has that sleek grey hound body.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I agree with Gypsy, the dog looks like a German Shephard/ Lab mix. The high back end with the narrow muzzle screams Shephard (to me), not to mention the ears. Then the stocky front and thick tale looks like a lab. But, that's just my opinion :) take it or leave it :D

I'd like to second (um, or is it triple or quadruple?) the black lab vote. There's definitely a few other breeds thrown in there too though. The body almost looks wolf shaped...

Ah well, whatever she is, she's very cute ^_^

I’m Saying it’s a Shepherd mix. Just because a dog is black doesn’t make it a Black Labrador.
No offence intended to the voters of it being a Lab.

The big paws and thick tail could also bring attention to perhaps a Chow/Shepherd mix of some sort

as a bit of a dog expert i would say that the head is shaped like a pointer's while the body is not deep chested enoguh to be a grey hound...a lab is a good bet judging by the size but you do not have a purebred to be sure.

Yeah she is definitely not a purebred. And she's not underfed either. (She is a BIG eater...o_O She puts away food like there's no tomorrow or yesterday!)

Lab/Shepherd mix was my guess too.
