Thunderbird email/Netscape 8?

Postby HisaishiFan » Mon Jun 13, 2005 3:51 pm

I've been using Netscape 7.x, which includes an email program and an html editor. I'm thinking of switching to Netscape 8 because it uses Mozilla and IE engines, so it lets you switch back and forth if you find a web site that doesn't work (b/c it was written in Front Page, I guess).

But Netscape 8 doesn't have the email program, which I really like. (Don't really care about the html editor since I don't depend on it.)

I'm trying to decide whether to switch. Mozilla says that Thunderbird will automatically migrate all your email and give you great spam protection (better than Outlook or Netscape mail).

Sooo... has anyone been using Netscape 8 and Thunderbird? I'd love some opinions. And please, don't even suggest that I go over to the Dark Side (IE, Outlook).

I've used mozilla mail, and it's alright. If you used netscape mail, it's probably an OK switch for you. I'd recommend installing and letting it migrate your email, then see if you like it. You can always uninstall it and go back to your 7.

That's probably the best idea. I wish Netscape would have kept its little suite of programs, though. It sure was handy.
