Get what right? The cliched plot? The lack of innovation and originality?
This movie is sure to be rubbish.

^ Don't be hard. Let the X-Box fans have their fun. The PS2 still owns.

Alex Garland is writing the script. He also did 28 Days Later, which was a good zombie film. It could be good.

I really didn’t find the story in Halo cliché. Sure, it’s easy to spot elements from other *games* (Star Craft and such), but it’s still a top-notch sci-fi story, especially for a shooter.

Btw, here's my ten points of why people liked Halo--read it.

-Then continue to bash Halo if you like.

Now, as for the moive, I dunno. We all know how video games to movies go. As long as Uwe Boll stays far far away from it... I'm hopeful about the movie.

Off Topic: Speaking of which, look at the list of movies Uwe Boll has the rights to..

Far Cry (2006)
Hunter: The Reckoning (2006)
Night Claws (2005)
Dungeon Siege (2006)
Bloodrayne (2005)

Hey hey, now. Don't come in an Xbox relevant thread and bash it. Seriously. :p

On topic, as long as this movie isn't quite like Red vs. Blue, I would very much be interested in giving it a shot. I hope they do it right!

I heard 'bout this a couple days ago, I think it'll turn out great, in fact, if done right, Halo could turn out better as a movie then as a game, and definitely (sp) better as a movie than a book. ;)

I enjoy Xbox, just not Halo. Its way overated. I guess I'm just used to more innovative games like the Thief series.

Although ... that would be interesting. ^^;

I'll be very interested in seeing the movie when the time comes. If there's a scene of a grunt sticking an elite on accident, then I'll be especially happy. ^^

Some of you guys need to get over the console rivalry crap. If you don't have stock in Sony or Microsoft who cares? I own both of them and they both have good games.

This movie could be hit or miss. I'm betting it'll be at least average because there is a ton of expectation for this more so than the Tomb Raider or Resident Evil movies ever were.

When will people ever learn, Video game based movies (and vice versa) never do well. Since the firsts ones were horrible the rest would probably be the same. That thought will be in peoples head and they won't bother to see it (except for die-hard fans).

There havn't been to many video game to movie adaptions lately, but I always thought this one would be a good one if done right. There are alot of others to. Starcraft or Zelda would make great ones (if done right). One of my first thoughts for this movie is
"it's got a 80% chance (I assume so far) of getting an R rating." "Can I see it in theatures, no." Which kind of sucks but what can you do.

i am so psyched about the movie. i luv the games even though i am a girl. most of the girls that i know dont like it. but i luv it. i may not be such a good fighter but i can kick butt at navigation. i know where to go for everything especially the part in halo2 with the pistons i can get through that entire part without killing anything except for those huge robot things. those i just cant resist. ^-^
