Can anyone suggest some good, witty, mystery type anime? I've heard good things about Spiral.
If Death Note were an anime, I'd go with that.
Any ideas?

Well there's there ever popular, "turn-your-brain-into-a-mushy-paste" Serial Experiments: Lain. Noir could also fall into this category somewhat in that the whole show is rather centered around the mystery of why Kirika and Mirielle are connected; maybe not mind bendingly witty, but still plenty of twists, turns, and action! Those are just based on my collection; it's rather large but those are the only I own or have owned that I'd say fit the bill.

I mean stuff like Detective Conan, Spiral, and Death Note. No action or any of that, more detective like stuff.

I might just buy Spiral if I can find it for cheap.

Would you like Excel Saga? I find Full Metal Panic very witty.

I haven't heard of Death Note, but I hear Spiral has a very disappointing ending.

I was gonna say Detective Conan, but you obviously know that one. Besides that, I got nothing (though id like to know; i love mysteryish stuff)
