Yeah... well I'm not so anti-girly now.

Growing up, I always wore a baseball cap. I always wanted to play a boy. And I never liked pink.

I've grown out of all that now. Even the baseball cap thing.

They just know that women are more likely to pay alot of money for a shirt than men.

When I look for a shirt, my thought process is as follows:
Is it ugly?
No.
How much is it?
Too much.
Next shirt.
Is it ugly?
maybe.
do I care?
no.
How much is it?
pretty good.
one shirt down.
do I need more shirts?
Nah!
Are these pants ugly?
maybe... ect.

My problem with cloths is. I have a hard time finding anything in my size that is not skimpy.
I just want a pare of pants that don’t go up to my ribs, or don’t go so low that it shows to much.
And I hate stretch jeans. I don’t have enough hips to hold them up. But have you ever tried to buy pants at Wal-mart that was not stretch. Well let me tell you it's not easy.
I just want a plane old t-shirt. Not one that says “I’M HOTâ€

xD I don't mind the shirts that say "Gone crazy, be back later" and stuff like that, but the "FLIRT" and "HOTTIE" stuff annoys me. >_>;

T__T; And I hate stretch pants. It seems like most pants made for girls these days are designed for anorexics who wear thongs. It makes me very sad, so I've started wearing boys' cargo pants. x3 They are very comfy and they cover everything. YAY!

XD Yes. Those are pretty fun. I don't buy any of them, but they're fun to laugh over as you shop. ^__^ Yep. There was one that had "The girl who's going to take the boy next to you," or something like that, written on it. u.u Pretty dumb.

*__*/))) What are stretch pants?

I hate those pants. T_T; Most people who wear them are either sluts or too stupid to realize that having letters on your bum will draw unwanted attention. ._.; Silly people.

Dude, I love boys pants. Its true that its hard to find clothes that don't show... everything. Clevage is on of my pet peeves especially. I get so frusterated when someone gets me a shirt thats really low cut... (plus I'm so small there's nothing to show).

wow! I don't like pink that much either! And Victoria secret, have u seen their models? They wear like nothing! It's so skimpy.Bluch!!! I hate the prices of things. One tank-top is like $7.00! It's outrageous! And it's really hard for me to find stuff that fits right. Once again Coby, I share ur pain.lol. One solution is to go to a second-hand shop. Yeah, i said it. It's really fun to get cheap stuff and make new clothes out of them, and sometimes they have old shirts or something that stores couldn't sale, and no one ever wore. My cousin got a shirt there that said, "JC Penney, Biggest sale of the year!" It was really cute! i wanted one!!

Is there really a reason to wear shorts/ultra tight shirts that have writing on them - other than:
1. to draw attention to an asset you wish to display?
or
2. to catch people staring and make them feel bad?

Whoa... I didn't know I felt so strongly about that.

Men's clothes are cheaper because guys wear their clothes out faster than girls. Generally speaking, a boy is more likely to get a huge stain on the front of his shirt or a hole in his jeans than a girl.

If you're a girl like me, learn to sew. I like to wear lace shawls and stuff with beads on it etc., but I rip holes in them all the time. I often wear long skirts or my favorite pants, which are made out of canvas. I like wearing things that are unique.

Addressing the words on the front of shirts issue:

I don't think it's a big deal. In fact, my main problem with this is that most screen tees have really dumb things printed on them. I look at guys' shirts, and it's relatively easy to find something witty on the front, but in the girl's section everything says "hottie" or "princess"...you know, stuff that makes a girl look dumb or sleezy.

My opinion on the matter is, if you're worried about a guy staring at your breasts, wear a different shirt.

The one shirt I have with a words printed on it (that I bought in the girl's section) has a picture of a goldfish with a paper shark hat on its head. Above it is a little imagination bubble with an outline of a shark on it, and below the fish it says "Identity Crisis".

I like it because the message reminds me of myself. My whole life I've been trying to look out for myself, often bluffing and acting stronger than I really was to get people to leave me alone. Sometimes I was so good at it that I actually believed I was strong enough to deal with certain situations, and in a strange way...believing that I was invincible was what got me through it.

So now I put up all of these walls and act like I can handle anything, when really I'm just a little girl who's trying to be independent, like a man who can defend himself. I just put up my fists, harden my eyes and hope that I will have the courage to strike when I need to. And it works...most of the time...

Gomen, back on topic:
Besides my turtle backpack, this has been a #1 conversation starter. Almost everyone who sees me laughs at my shirt. It's been so fun to finally find something with a funny message on it, and it's not frumpy either.

The only uncool thing is that I stained/ripped it within a couple of weeks... The stain isn't really visible now, though. I think it's been washed so many times that it faded away...

LOL ILoveArt.

Madeline, in a way I know exactly what you mean. Your shirt sounds neat, too. It's hard to find funny/clean girls shirts.

One time I managed to find funny/clean guys' shirts, with stuff I found funny, like Careless Driving School, where they teach you "wreckless driving" (in theory), and stuff like that.

But that didn't work out either! The words were placed so that it took a lot of reading... and... I felt uncomfortable with people reading my shirts.

Honestly I have *no* idea why they print things like "Hottie" on girls' clothes. Especially on pants! I've never met a girl who liked her butt or thought it looked good. I can't imagine a girl inventing or wearing those clothes on purpose. But I know people voluntarily wear them, so, I guess they're "cool" or something. :P

Wow my mom just got a front load washer!

Just yesterday I found a great shirt for cheap. It was a guy's shirt but it looked great on me. So... I may continue to check out the guys' section, for bargains. :)

I don't know about that, but to remember my mom's (who carries an amusingly diverse set of knowledge on all kinds of things) comments some time ago, evidently "Victoria" is the founders wife - pretty much a plain woman, also, she commented that the business' ticket to its success was providing a comfortable environment for buying underwear, though I wouldn't know myself. Perhaps this may go some measure to explaining the name, combined with a psuedo-mystique, and the tendency of businesses to try to retain their original names unless they have a most compelling reason to change it.

I hate carrying around purses. I like to keep my money in a wallet I can just put in my pocket. Then I have my hands free to shop.

I don't have a purse, and I don't like to shop...if I ever have money on me I keep it in my boots or in a section of a compartment of a compartment of my backpack...lol. I'm extremely paranoid of pick-pockets. (too many fantasy books)

What's really funny is I used to be deathly afraid of swap meets, until I realized that no one would pickpocket there. There's nothing of value to steal XP You know, I still don't like my local swap meet though, because of the porn everywhere and I wouldn't be suprised if it's connected to some kind of drug ring. Plus all the stuff is junk...unless you're looking for nick-nacks or a cheap t-shirt.

Nevermind...^^;

XD] My point was it's total capacity, but having tried it again it wasn't close to being torturously or painfully heavy, only a little. Though I wouldn't try running or playing DDR with such a load. Even without carrying that much, the combination of pocket sizes at any given moment makes it extremely functional.
