Posting Habits: Quality or Quantity?

Talk about anything in here.

Depends on the forum/ here I try to make quality posts that are thought-provoking, sometimes funny, or to th epoint. While in others, for example

To be honest, the one thing that is a bit annoying are the ones who post a few words just to get their count up. For exapmle, "Yeah I agree, that's awesome!" For me, I try to only post if/when I have something to say; something that I think is thought provoking. If I don't have much to say, but want to comment, I at least try to make the effor to type at least 2 sentences. I mean, if you can't think of anything more then that, then was it worth the post in the first place? Also, I don't mind follow up comments, but I always make an effort to add something new in, instead of repeating the same thing over again. So for me, I would say I'm more about the quality of the post.

Hmm. As of late I have become more of a spammer. But I am honost about it. A while back I noticed my post count was low...and it made me feel weird...since I have been hear since before this board was born. Back in the MSN days of like 10 active members. So if you notice posts on the currently listening to board by me...yup, I am boosting my post count. I will say, that a good percentage of the time I post...its more then just a song title or a one word answer. I like to explain things when I do post.

Do you truly believe that I would tamper with my post count? That would be both dishonest and pointless, as I really feel it is irrelevant. Though after stating that I realize I am not truly neutral: it has caused me more grief than anything else, this thread being an example.

So the answer to your question is no. I am uncertain how I have the highest post count, but it is most likely because we have yet to gain any members willing to do nothing but post 50+ times a day. But to attempt to sate your curiosity, I'll give you an educated guess:
1) Being a moderator. We post to do our work, and basically all of those posts are posts I would not ordinarily make.
2) High post counts are generated by getting online at least once a day, not spending hours at a time. I spend relatively little time on CAA, but because that time is regular there are numerous posts.
3) Efficiency in posting. Generally I open threads in new windows, so most of the time I have 2-5 browsers on CAA at once. It significantly decreases the amount of time required.
4) Stories. They use numerous posts.

I just post wherever interests take me. I imagine some people wish I'd just shut up...
Same here... but your posts are always quite interesting in my opinion. :)

I dunno....I think I've made short random posts before. The shortest post I've ever made is "I'll pray" at the Prayer Section and every now and then, I insert "That's awesome!" if something good happens. Short as they are, those posts are important for the purposes of acknowledgement. But I have a feeling you and I are talking about different types of posts altogether even if the content is the same.

Large quantity of quality posts.

Too bad I usually am too lazy to post anything profound, even if I have something to post about.

And being one of earliest members, my post count is still at ~1000 range. I sure lurk a lot.

Most likely. I feel that affirmative or consolatory posts can be very important (though I don't make many of them) despite their length, or lack thereof. However, I do hope that everyone who promises to pray for something truly does... some people must be praying eight hours a day, if they really pray for a request more than once.
