"Why do fangirls like men that look like women?"

Talk about anything in here.

*Give Impact a load of sensitive crap.* ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Seriously, if you guys would stop assuming that most fangirls think and act alike, it would help make our lives easier. I'm not going to like an anime villian, just because he's good-looking. The same goes for jerks and perverts.

You know... I don't feel like doing this any longer.

You win.

Happy now?

No, you are right. I am wrong, as always. I'm sorry that I've treated this like all of you think and act the same. That's obviously not true. BUT, the majority does obsess over looks and all of that, though you people are different.

I'm sorry, I feel terrible... I don't mean to treat any of you like that. -_-

I agree with you ... about jerks and perverts, at least.

EDIT: Don't feel bad, Impact. We might be talking seriously (sorta), but this thread is supposed to be for fun.

It doesn't really matter!!! And some of us *are,* um, obsessed with looks. I'm hoping to grow out of it... and I don't think I am in real life, but, well, whatever.

Just don't forget...

One of these guys would take a bullet for you, and the other one would probably be the person shooting at you in the first place.

Just so everyone know, I was just joking with "truckload." I've dumped truckloads of coal on certain members of CAA before just for the fun of it.

I'd like to once again tell you how cool I think you are since we seem to be old women obsessing over girly anime boys ;)

You know, I like pretty boys in real life...a LOT. Entirely too much. Hope is glad that no one from here was able to see her drooling at the pretty European boys. But when I look at the guys I've seriously liked, then at the guys I've dated...most of the time they're not really "pretty" by the world's definition. The heart is made of gold, and that's what makes them beautiful. People grow on ya', you know? Looks are just first impressions. You'll "grow out of it", to use your term n_n

That's right.

And really, Alice, you might always think that a certain guy is good looking (There's this completely goofy, and still wonderful adult, married woman in our church, and when I and her college aged daughter walk through the mall with her, she'll always say something like "Did you girls see that guy with the gorgeous blue eyes!?" and then we're like " " and she always covers it up by saying "Hey! I was just looking for you two!!"), but what's important is which guys you really seek out. Fangirliness will forever be in your heart, but when the day is done-- what kind of a heart do you want to fall in love with. If you think about the heart of a guy and not his exterior, you'll end up with a keeper, I'm sure.

Hopeshimmer, you'd totally die at a hardcore/emo show. You'd be like "LOOK AT ALL THE GUYS WITH FEATHERED HAIR AND BETTER FASHION SENSE THAN MOST GIRLS I KNOW!!!!!111!!!!onehundredeleven!!!!" Just wait until you go see Copeland and Mae. You'll see. XD

It is nice to see girls who are just as interested in what's on the inside than what is visible. Particularly what Osaka and Hopeshimmer said, looks only go so far. If a guy is good looking but has a nasty heart then he's not the kind you'd want to fall in love with anyway. The heart is the most important thing. So, that was pretty rad reading some of the stuff in this thread, actually. That was nice to read.

Yes, Jamie. This is precisely why Hope is seeking adult supervision for BOTH concerts. I honestly think I'm going to need someone to stop me from trying to propose to Aaron from Copeland. It's the voice...and the pretty XD *fan girl squeal* :hits_self

Other than pretty boys with angelic tenor voices, it's the heart that counts. *runs out quickly before being stoned* Kidding ;)

Don't worry, I'll be there at the show more than likely, so hopefully I can hold you back from throwing yourself at Aaron Marsh. Or any of the little equally pretty boy fans there. Maybe it's better if we get you straight jacket first? You might be tempted to do some serious glomping. XD XD

Try Sam Goody or Suncoast. Suncoast sometimes has Sesshoumaru action figures. Borders does, too! That's what I'm after next!! I also want that Sesshoumaru wall scroll (, but probably won't get it).

So now I sleep with a Sesshoumaru plushie along with a white teddy bear named Fluffy. So I'm sleeping with two Fluffys!!...?!?! *brain explodes*

:thumb: Well said. ^_^ I'll always drool over pretty boys. I'll have anime bishounen obsessions for years to come, I'd never even remotely consider marrying for looks alone - I mean, come on, there are maybe 2 or 3 bishounen that I'd actually think about marrying for even a split second (Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi being one of them. >_>) But on the other hand, my boyfriend definitely wouldn't be considered the most "beautiful" person in the world physically, but I love him to death because of the person he is. His heart is in the right place, and in real life that's all that's really going to matter to me. ;)

So it's really no big deal "looking", I think. Heck, I look all the time. I look at Kan-chan maybe more than I probably should. (no surprise there, I'm sure), but in the end it's just looking. XD; Because I'd be the first person to slap a pretty boy for being a jerk in real life, believe you me.

Liking the doctor in Fruits Basket is the first sign of hope I've seen, that I don't always have to like the awful guys.

So... that's enough of that. :P

I definitely agree with those who said it's the insides that count. But if I end up being attracted not just to looks, but to the wrong 'insides,' what's a girl to do?

EDIT: um, okay, I cut 80 percent of this post. :sheepish: Remind me not to dump stuff here like that again...

It may just familiarity.

Still, I lot of people think Hatori Sohma is hot so you aren't that weird. Now, if you said Shigure Sohma I'd have to fight the urge to lock you up and throw away the key; that is one twisted guy.

I'm not one for men who are too feminine in appearence. I prefer men who look like men; who have distinctly male characteristics and an absence of distinctly feminine ones. There is nothing freakier than a man with overly groomed eyebrows.
