A few weeks ago I dug up two 8x4 plots of land, put on top soil and manure and made myself two veegatble gardens. Yes, Hitokiri the crazy Goth Aassassin with a fro, is now a gardener.
I planted 2 (early girl and supersonic) tamatos, 4 brocolli, 4 cayenne peepers, a jalapeno pepper, 3 lettuce (heads), and a squash (yellow straight-necked) in one garden.
The other garden has the other 2 yellow-straight necked squash, 3 Cucumbers (pickled), a Haibaerno Pepper, a Jalapneo Pepper, 4 Cherry Tomato Peppers, and 4 beets.
I will post pictures soon. i already have some peppers, tamatos, and squash growing w00t!

Gardens are fun. We always have one here...but this year is the first year in memory we did not have one...everyone is super busy at the house with there jobs. Potatoes are fun to grow...as are tomatoes. Try to get the yellow ones. There ripe when yellow...freaks everyone out.

As for growing vegetables...You are brave, Sir Hitokiri. I would never even attempt such a dangerous thing. Vegetables are tasty, yes, but treacherous. Especially squash. The kind my slave-driving grandparents persuaded me to pick were covered in invisible, yet agonizingly painful spiky thingies. What? "Wear gloves", you say? Why, whoever heard of such nonsense?

Mithrandir and I planted vegetables today. We are now extremely sore. Our soil is rocky clay, and it's a pain in the everything to till that stuff. Not to mention carrying at least a dozen 50-lb bags of topsoil, and a bunch of bricks. Anyway... now that we have a yard (which is mostly deck, but with strips of land around the perimeter), we decided to plant stuff. Today we planted carrots, cilantro, 2 kinds of peppers, broccoli, and green onions. Yay!

What, the hair? It's not that bad once you figure out how to grasp the squash.
Kali has been a gardener in his time, and grown some darn fine crops, too.
Oh, and 'fros don't need color to be cool, they need fullness, size, and shape. Also, watch Yakitate Japan or your pancreas will hate you.

I might plant some carrots and onions next year. I also am working on a greenhouse and a third bigger garden to keep zuchinni and strawberries.
