Ingmar Bergman

Postby bigsleepj » Tue May 24, 2005 12:17 pm

Swedish filmmaker Ingmar (not to be confused with Ingrid) Bergman is considered by many to be the greatest film-maker of all time. That's horrendously high praise and, since I have never seen any of his movies and there's a lot of smart people hanging around here, I'll pose this question: Anyone seen any Ingmar Bergman movies? If so what were you oppinions in him? Just asking.

Since when was Kurosawa Swedish? Besides some people say Kurosawa is the best, some say Bergman, some say Andrei Tarkovsky, some say Robert Bresson and some say Uwe Boll. Everyone has their tastes, so some would choose one above the other.

Personally I like Kurosawa.

Hmm... I'd say Adrienne Lynn and Michel Gondry are the best, but wait... I have no interest in "Fatal Attraction" and I couldn't stand "Human Nature" so I guess I don't believe in a "best" director... I judge directing differently movie to movie...

The Seventh Seal... It's about the grim reaper, right? It's referenced so often in things I watch, but I have yet to see it...
