Well, unless I am a strange monkey-thing far too attached to an unattainable apple, no, I don't really look like my av. Although then again I do have brown hair, though it's way longer, I do like animals, and I do like making animated gifs. I suppose if you make your own av it can represent you in some way. And even if you don't make your own, there has to be some reason you chose your av -and your choice can reflect on you. So... by looking at BSJ's av, I can guess that he: likes/wears/both glasses, and has respect for the simplified face that is the smiley.
And by looking at pyro_moogle's av, I can guess that you like playing video games like mario titles, know enough about the mario games to realise that that particular mushroom has special properties, and (I'm going out on a limb here) has a thing for green mushrooms. :grin:

Oo, I see that this thread is more about associating avatars with people's real appearances. I have to admit that I tend to picture people as their avatars, especially when they have one avatar for a long time and it isn't an instantly recognizable character/person.

That doesn't happen as much with people who switch avatars alot, and don't even get me started on people who have the opposite gender as their avatar. That really gets me confuzzled, I don't know how many guys I've mistaken for girls :sweat:
