You must have a short attention span because nothing truly is "boring" about LOTR, it has a deep plot which means it requires patience and intellect to understand and value. Something which you and many other people lack.

ugh nobody could possibly hate the lord of the rings as much as I do. Those movies are so gay, by the time I got done watching one of them I could have read the book, did my parents taxes, wrote a 10 page essay on how gay the movie is, and still had time to spare.

Maybe if you would have FINISHED the movie instead of watching "half" of it (which I doubt) it would have been clearer.

People have different tastes, and some people find things boring that others find exciting. I find Gundam SEED dreadfully dull and boring, but others don't. It's a difference in tastes. It isn't mindless bashing to say something is boring, it is a person's opinion, and can't be proven right or wrong, same as with my opinions about Gundam SEED.

Intellectual reasons don't work. Look at the Star Wars thread for that. People tried putting logical (in my opinion) reasons why the new movies are not as good as the originals. But people like Shatterheart are going to like the new movies no matter how much "logic" you put into your arguments. Because to him, the arguments aren't intellectual at all, though they may be to people with similar opinions.

You'll notice I have closed this thread. I have two responses that both had some influence on my decision. The personal one is in the rest of this paragraph, the administrative one is in the next. While I can understand your frustration, I don't feel that insulting these people will help. Some of those respectfully stated that they didn't like the movies; there is nothing wrong with this. Also, I feel that as Christians we are called to a higher level of respect toward our fellow human beings, regardless of whether or not they are being idiots.

Ultimately, this thread does not serve an immediate purpose and could very easily cause needless flaming. If anyone feels the thread should be reopened, speak with me via PM.
