Is it possible for a canker sore to get infected?

Postby Bobtheduck » Thu May 19, 2005 1:08 am

I have had a canker sore in my mouth for quite some time... Probably a week and a half... The pain is getting worse every day, and it feels like it is spreading to my lip...

I keep hoping it will dry up, but it never does... If it stays there, could it get infected or anything? Am I in any further danger from it?

If I had some "Cream of Tarter" I may be able to get rid of it... It's just a matter of not washing it away with saliva... If it stays on there for a few hours, it goes away... It never fails, except for when it's positioned too close a strong flow of saliva, such as right on top of a gland... I need to go to a store for that, but I bet it is somewhat expensive... Those small packages of spice and stuff tend to be expensive... Anyhow, I will get it if it doesn't go away soon...

(0_0);;; I'm not the expert in this topic but some of my canker sores lasts for more than a week. It doesn't necessarily spread but it does get pretty painful wherever it is.

I don't really have any advice on this. I generally suffer silently and let my body heal on its own course. If I get in the mood for it, I help myself to some.....salt and watch some blood and tears flow. (^_^);;

But really, I sincerely feel bad for you. I HATE canker sores!
