Wow, not many fans of eastern dragons here. :S

lol, Mononoke vs. Mulan? Mononoke would toss Mulan all over the terrain, and then some. ^^;

The best dragon is in Tea with The Black Dragon by R.A. McAvoy.

The cover art stinks, but the book is great if you like Chinese dragon murder mysteries.

My favorite dragons are the Perniese dragons from Anne McCaffery's books. Though, they aren't like the regular western dragons. The can teleport and breath fire with the help of special stones. PERN BOOKS ROCK!

Can't decide either or. I'm uncertain by Eastern Dragons looking more like a serpent considering that some Western dragons give me the creeps. I guess I like dragons to a certain extent. ^^

I believe Satan's an eastern Dragon. (He's called 'Dragon' as well as 'snake'. So I believe he'd be a snake-like dragon! ;) )

Western dragons: Resistant to magic, can fly, breathe fire, etc.
Eastern dragons: Can't kill them, they are raised from a certain kind of fish, and they look so much more awesome.

Eastern dragons win \o/

My pleasure. ;)

Ack, Eastern sure isn't giving Western alot of competition. Maybe it's because most people here are Western (though there are Westerners like me who have their hearts in the East...ok I'll shut up now :P). ^^;

Eastern dragons are cool! They look so sleek and agile.

Western.

i guess it's mostly from the sense of power you get from them. Plus I've fed my mind on them from a young age, so I'm a bit accustomed to them..

Growing up I'd mostly only known only of western dragons, but while I still love them, recently I've come to like eastern more anyway, especially after stuff like Spirited Away.

I like both dragon types pretty equally, so I'm basing my decision on draw-ability.

I love how Eastern dragons can be so elegant, but they tend to be mind numbingly difficult to draw, what with the way they go on and on and on and on....I usually end up very confused whenever I draw them, I can't keep straight where the coils connect and where exactly the forearms and legs should be positioned.

Western dragons tend to be a wee bit easier to draw and their muscle structure is fun to figure out (I study dinosaur anatomy as a guide). Plus it's easier to do action poses with 'em, since they can be all powerful, spikey and fierce looking. So I guess I'm going with Western dragons.

Random thoughts: where exactly did Wyverns (or however you spell it) come from? And which style of Dragon was around first? Eastern or Western? I tend to think Eastern..
