Lifelong Dreams

Postby Linksquest » Sun May 08, 2005 7:52 pm

My lifelong dream is to go up to a grassy hill amidst the mountains, lie down in the grass and gaze at the sky all day and all night. I am dead serious.

I just went outside a few seconds ago and laid in the grass as i gazed at the night sky as i spoke with God. I saw 2 shooting stars and then a star that moved... like... it was a PIN prick of light (def no an airplane cause i def know what those look like at night) that moved across the sky. My only explanation is that it was a satellite... but im not sure. It was just amazing. I wanted to sleep outside tnt, bu sadly i have school tomorrow. I am def going to do that some time this summer: no sleeping bags, no tent... just me in the grass under the stars.

...you just have to outrun the halfling.

Wow. That's beautiful, Linksquest.

I'm not sure, for my part. Probably to make some kind of Internet history. Like Google. To have my site be a reference. "If you're looking for a good site on this, go to AngelSakura's page at..." Like how they reference pages in the back of Excel Saga in the footnotes. Awesome.
Think happy thoughts.

Lifelong dream? Hmmm.... *ponders* Nothing stands out to me. I guess I've always longed to spend a whole day and a whole night with a special friend, just laughing and playing and enjoying each other, I've always wanted to experience that....or something...I'm not sure. My dreams get kinda muddled sometimes. ^^;;

I have like a billion things I really want to do. (Does that make me childish? >.> I prefer "ambitious". ^.^) I want to be a missionary in Japan, possibly a teacher there, a writer, an owner of tons of cool pets, and I want to live in the country, like I do now, so that I can go outside, explore, and be outdoorsy. I also want to visit Scotland, Ireland, England, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Australia, (Japan of course), and Germany. Is that too much for one person to accomplish in one lifetime?

My only true dream lies in Japan, since I have such a heart and passion for the country. My dream is to go to Japan and be used very widely and strongly there by God, in what ever way He'd have me spread His word. I also dream of meeting my future wife there. I always hope she'll be alot like Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi, only a very strong believer, and I pray we can have the best marriage possible, only loving God more than each other and always strengthening each other and others in the faith. I hope to live there happily with her all of my life. ^^

Take up fencing, get a book (or 12) published, use my artistic talents for the Lord, and be there when the people I love need me.

And yer lookin' at 'er. Seriously, I'm scottish (a highland clan) on both sides.

Anyway, my dreams. I can think of a few I've had at various times, from the silly (to see every single Harrison Ford movie ever made!) to the somber (to change the world for Christ).

Mine would probably to travel to Priene in Turkey (a tiny, out of the way shepherd village with little history that I randomly studied obsessively on), visit New Zealand and Australia, and see Japan, and build my custom house I've been designing since age 12.

And BTW, Brasil is an awesome place for those who want to go there. I definately reccommend going there - do it as a missionary and it will be even better.

My lifelong dream is to go up to a grassy hill amidst the mountains, lie down in the grass and gaze at the sky all day and all night. I am dead serious.

That sounds wonderful. I wouldn't want to be outside all day though. My fair skin would bake in the sun.

I would probably just go out at night. Here in Florida though, we have vicious raccoons and alligators. *sigh* The grass is also extremely thick and uncomfortable.

I know where I would want to go...Hume Lake! That is such a beautiful place. It is mostly used as a grounds for Christian Camps. It's in the mountains. I love mountains...you're making me sad mentioning mountains. :sniffle: There are no mountains in Florida.

I'm not sure a person like me was meant to live in this place. I loved the redwoods in California. They were gorgeous. I miss the nights there. At one time I lived in a rural area, where you could see all of the stars so clearly at night. The mountains were dark outlines on the horizon, and everything was bathed in shadow...no streetlights or buildings or noise to ruin the view.

The only places I like are by the beach. One time I went to an old fortress by the sea that was built in the 1500's. My mom's friends told me that I looked 'in my element'. Haha...I guess.

I wonder...in heaven...what it will be like...daylight forever? It might be nice. The light probably won't scorch you either. Maybe there will be soft grass to lay on...and a river. And trees! I love trees.

I hope there are clovers. I love clovers...and will there be a blue sky, with clouds? Will we be able to see the stars through the light? Will there even be stars?

As for my lifelong dreams...

All my life I dreamed of becoming a martial artist. Now that I have got my wish I wonder if it was a good dream at all. It's so hard to find a balance between my desire to protect the ones I love and my desire to destroy.

In heaven apparently we won't kill each other. Therefore there will be no reason to know how to defend yourself from attacks. Which means there will be no martial arts in heaven...:P

...another dream I have had is to be a musician. Music is what's at my core. I used to want to be famous, but I no longer have that desire. I want to use my music to help and bless other people. The problem is, that makes little or no income...

Luckily it seems that music is something close to God's heart also. I wonder if I will be able to sing in heaven? I love to sing. My soul pours out into the melody and the words I say...I think it is my favorite hobby in the whole wide world.

And protecting/ loving my family. That has always been my top priority. I would do anything for them. They are the only people I trust...the only people on this earth that I live for. We are bound not only by friendship but by blood. Therefore it is my duty to do whatever I can to defend this bond.

So when I really look at it closely...my family is my dream. My dad, my mom, my little sister...they are my life, my future, my every-day. Someday I hope to have a husband and children that are like that to me. And then I can protect my children with martial arts, and use my voice to sing them to sleep. Then it won't matter to me whether any of my gifts have eternal significance. If I can use them to help my family, then they are worthwhile.

My dream is similar to yours, Linksquest. I envision standing in a grassy plain surrounded by a mountain chain, with towering thunderclouds stretching from horizon to horizon. A wind will come whipping through the grasses, everything will be absolutely still...

And then I'll start running, as fast as I can, to no where in particular, and it will be the greatest adventure in my life.

If I went to Ireland I could visit my cousins in Cork. :thumb:
I need to go the Scotland because that's where my direct paternal ancestors
originally came from.I believe from the Lowlands.
I also need to go to Germany. If I did that I would want to go to
Westphalia and the area around Mulheim especially the town of Broich.
That is where my ancestor Willem Rittenhouse was born.
I also would love to go to Japan like everyone else here.I think it be nice to see Mount Fuji and some of the other sights.

I have a few lifelong dreams:
1) to learn to play the piano
2) To really have an impact in someones life
3) to be happy wherever life may lead me.

Not much but yeah.

I have some dreams:
1) Someday, publish a book/manga (either or)
2) Learn to love God with all my heart (working on that everyday)
3) Spend endless hours talking about nothing and manga with my friends (this one I do almost everyday... yet, it's always a dream to have it happen again... so.)
4) Survive til I get to see my brother in a month.
5) Make a way to make manga guys real (ok, now i'm just dreaming...)

My dream is to someday be a bilionare living on a beautiful paradise in Hawaii in a mansion with the most gorgeous woman in the world.....

but since I doubt that would ever happen to me, I'll have to settle for the next best thing. Which I'm still fluctuating about.

Part of me wants to a game designer... but on the flip side, I've been getting a lot of inspiration to maybe be an interpretter someday. Maybe I'll figure out how to do both?

What I meant by "not much" is that I don't have a long list of things. Of course I have more feeling towards my dreams. Personally I would rather start my list off small, then complete the ones I have in sight first. Then as fulfill my dreams I'll add more. If we make our list too big to early, people usually become overwhelmed and end up not fulfilling what they set out to do.
