Has anyone seen RahXephon? Is it good? I've never seen it but it looks awesome (especially the animation :o ) ;)

ive only seen the first episode
looks nice...though it seems to have some greek/other gods(though i could be wrong) as thier mech theme, that can often go bad.
but the first episode was an eye catcher for sure, made me wanna see more.id be interested in other peoples opinions on it too

I've seen the entire serie since I couldn't wait before all the DVD to be release...
I'm definetly buying the box set when it comes out!
Great story, animation, music, etc.
A must see!

P.S. I'm totally against RahXephon being called an Evangelion rip off, so don't even think of comparing them XD

Well i have seen the first 3 dvds (so about half of the series). I like it, the music, story and art. A little implied sexual stuff, but nothing is shown. It makes me think of early Evangelion. (But I like RahXephon better so far, and as long as they don't just go crazy on the ending [like NGE] it would have to be better). ;)

Fortunately.... The guys that made Rah Xephon seemed to feel the same about the end of NGE.... The Rah Xephon is not only intelligible (Sort of. Somethings took me a few days of thinking, but that's nothing compared to the six-ish months of intense research I did for the Eva Ending....) but satisfying. Rah Xephon is by far, I think, the best anime out there at the moment. Certainly my favorite.

Also, Rah Xephon episode 19 is the single best half hour of animation ever....But only if you've seen the series up to that point, so don't go skipping ahead. ;)

I don't know why so many people had a hard time with the last eps of Eva... It really fixed my dimming opinion of the show... Until I saw EoE, that is... GRR... (EoE really screwed me up...)

hmm, well i don't know... lots of these sci-fi/mecha animes are "weird." Still i love it... it is in my top 5 for sure. i can only hope they don't mess it up in the end... i think there is only one more dvd to come out. Still this series seems to get clearer as it goes on... compared to some series...

Does this series have a lot of religious themes like Evangelion does? People often compare the two shows.

Nah. i can't remember anything like that, i have seen up to like episode 21 or so. there a few major things that can be linked to NGE, but really... they are pretty different. While i liked NGE at first it really didn't appeal to me as it went on, while Rah just gets better an better so far. i am hopeing for a good ending... not some rushed junk.

Is it scary like Akira? Is it anti-Christian in any way?

No

honestly I haven't seen any anti Chrstian anime my self (it either has chrstians themes or doesn't I've yet to see an anime that is anti chrstian)

that being said RahXephon is an amazing anime and easier to swollow than Eva and most importantly it has a happy ending. (I heard)

i've seen the first few episodes and the nimation is really pretty. I really like it so far and it's interesting, I do hope it ends cohesively though... It seems like each episode they just add more and more mysterious things (which i don't really have a problem with since it puts you in the same mindset as the main character).

I watched Rahxephon and it is deffinetelly not of God. It is about gods, and gods can't do anything for you because they are fake. God is the only way!

not just God... Christ is the only way. :)
anywho... the Mu don't seem to claim to be 'gods' to me... maybe that was earlier in the series. And also, i don't think anyone is taking the anime as gospel.

you know it just has all the info about the series. There are many things out there that claim to be bibles. Its not meant in any spiritual way, its just meant to be the most informative about a certain subject. :)
Actually i saw this at the bookstore today... not worth the 15 dollars. it is mainly pictures and character bios. I guess if you are a total fan then it would be nice.

I'm enjoying Raxhephon; but yeah, why did they call the art book a bible? It's not a big deal to me, however. It's just the way they've chose to promote their show.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

In defense of calling it a bible (note: bible, not Bible), a lot of television shows internally have 'bibles' written by the show's creator or head writers which amount to complete character descriptions, their motivations, their dress styles, what they will and won't do, limits to their behaviour and (in some cases) the intended length of the character on the show.

I don't know if this is at all why they called the book that, or even if they ever write up true bible-like outlines for anime series anyway, but it's worth a mention :)

>_< i don't have a problem with people callin stuff like that bibles so long as they don't mean it in a religous manner...

according to my dictionary a bible can be simple a book which is considered authoritive in it's field...
