Dribbling Cats

When you go to stroke your cat under the chin, do you pull your hand away with a covering of warm wet drool? When your cat purrs do you automatically put on gloves?
We have three cats. All three have dribbled. What about you?

I -have- had cats in the past who did, but currently, we are 100% dribble free...XD

Weird, I didn't know cats could dribble! My cat is most definitely dribble free, even his licks are dry. Ya learn something new every day...

And our cat Tigger is a big, fat drooly boy. He dribbles a lot.

My cat isn't a drooler... but she is a major back-talker. I've never heard a cat talk so much. It's pretty funny. I wish I knew what she was saying sometimes, and other times I'm fairly certain that I don't want to know.

It must be so cool having a talkative cat, though I can imagine it could get annoying at times. Two of ours talk a reasonable amount -one "Prrrrrip!" 's up and down the house when he's in a crazy mood. He'll also make the same cute 'Prrip!' sound to me when he's calling up and down the house. The other cats do that too -meow if they're looking for you. But our oldest cat (all are from the same litter, but he was and is the biggest) has the most annoying voice. He's a neutered tom, but I reckon they must've got him a bit late. He makes these weird calls as he walks up and down the house, or when he's outside and wants to come in, that apparently sound like a tom cat calling for females. Very, very loud. And very, very annoying when you're trying to sleep in.

I have no cats, so there is no opportunity for them to dribble. The cat that I owned for two days didn't dribble (that I knew of).

Tomkyou doesn't dribble now that he's dead. But I wouldn't be surprised if he drooled all over my pillows while I was away. He's the kind of catman that would do that kind of thing deliberately.

My cat too. She is always making some kind of noise at me. She also bangs on doors loudly. She is the loudest cat I have ever met. But she is aweful cute. Wednesday she will be 15 years old. And she has never ever drooled.

Strange. I wonder what it is that causes them to dribble -weak lips? And over-supply of saliva? Mind-numbing happiness? Slightly deformed mouths?

Well, cat's sometimes dribble playing soccer but I don't know about anything else.

I just developed a theory! Maybe the reason why my cat doesn't dribble is because whenever he's happy, he starts licking people.

So to all the people with dribbling cats (of the non sports playing kind), does your cat lick your hands/arms/face/ect. whenever he or she is happy? I guess I'd like to ask all the non-dribbling-cats people the same thing too.

Now that I stop to think about it, I can't believe I'm putting that much thought into this

With my cat, if she is like that you could throw her around the room without her reacting (ok... not entirely true, but you get the point)
I really really really love my cat! She can copy bird noises... like at my old house there were tonnes of pigeons, and when she purred she sounded like a pigeon. Now, our new house has alot of magpies which she is starting to copy. I must say, I prefer the pigeon noises

To answer your question, Lizardqueen, no, my cats don't usually lick us when they're happy. It may happen on the odd occassion, but definitely not often.

Dribbly cats rock! My first cat drooled like a waterfall and these new kittens we have are starting the habit. Its so cute until they shake their headds and you get a shower.... lol
