American Idol 2005 - the best so far

Darn, I can never make it to be the first to post about the show. you guys are too fast. ^^.

first, top 6 recap: After watching all the performances back from last week I have to honestly say that the wrost performance was...Carrie. I just didn;t like the song she picked, it didn't connect with me. She's had a lot of other WAAAAAAAAY better performances than that. so my top 6 rankings based soley on the song performed that week would be, Anthony, Bo, Constantine, Scott, Vonzel, Carrie

This week: YAY, way better song selection than last week.

Anthony: Poison Ivy: lol, this sounds like something that would be in a James Bond movie. It's so weird. But I liked it. The start wasn't too good though.
second song (forgot the name ^^): One of my favorite performances of the night. I thought the opening was good. I'll have to find the original version now. I have no problem with Radio Disney performances. *hugs his Radio Disney volme 2 CD*

Scott: On Broadway: Yay, Scott's back! way better than last week.
second song (forgot it again ^^): Still way better than last week.

Vonzell: 1st song: Didn't realy get into it, but she sang it well.
2nd song: I REALLY liked it. Another one of the best of the night.

Bo: Stand by Me: Good, good. I've heard like zillions of versions of this song and it's not my favorite, but ok. But you know, saying Bo makes everyone else look like ammatures isn;t really an impressive complament to me, because compared to him they really ARE amatures, it's just a simple fact. He has more experience than any of the others that are left. He's already enjoyed modest sucsess with his band. One article I read put it that out of all the contestants Bo needs the competition the least cause he already has had some suscsess.
2nd song: possibly my least favorite performance of the night. I didn't like the song, and his vocals didn't blow me away or anything.

Carrie: 1st song: Yeah, upbeat!! a bazillion times better than last week's performance for me.
2nd song: lol, I told my mom Carrie should sing a Rascal flats song and she did!! Possibly the best performance of the night. I loved it!!

so, overall, I think everyone did really well. My favorite three performances Carrie, Vonzel, and Anthony's second songs. I wouldn't have given anyone a really bad review, so in the end who I liked the most and least all comes down to personal prefrence. Rock is not my favorite genre (unless it's sung by Gackt ^^) so I wasn't really into Bo even though his performances weren't bad. Pop is my favorite genre so...go Anthony!!! I usally only vote for Scott but since it seems Anthony is the most likely to go I may have to split my votes between them, which may be difficult because I don't really pay attention to how many times I vote ^^

Carrie was really good to, I really liked her first song. didn't really like her second song (maybe it's because I don't really like slow songs..) I hope she doesn't get kicked off tonight that will be so stupid if she does. Especially before Anthony and Scott (btw, Anthony was reeeaaalllyy bad last night)

Something I forgot to ask in my last post, but did anyone else hear this? Supposedly after last week's results show Scott was actully considering quitting the show because he blaimed himself for Constantine leaving, but constantine and the other 4 finalists told him not to. Me and my friends were wondering why he might be blaiming himself, and this morning I may have found out why.

My local newspaper ran a short article today about votefortheworst.com It seems the site has come to the attention of Fox. Maybe Scott saw the site too and that's why he blaimed himself for Constantine. Anyway, Fox released a statement and basicly said "It's unfortunit that some people are voting this way, but the site's following isn;t big enough to really affect the voting that much"

I just noticed I'm like the only guy who consistanly posts here ^^. Where are all the male AI fans!!???

Since Scott was voted off, I can say without totally fibbing that I won't mind any of the four left winning. Anthony, even though a little weak, has risen in my estimation- I'm not really sure why.

Anyone else think Seacrest's Birthday Card joke hilariously cruel and evil? I loved it- that's the one thing I give Seacrest credit for: he can definitely build up the tension.

Scott had one of his better nights. I foresee him sticking around.

Anthony really should go home. He is just corny and not very good. *hands him the karoaki award* You deserve it, Anthony.

Ok so I know, it's not that great. . . BUT I CAN'T HELP BEING HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm glad Anthony didn't get the boot on his birthday. That would have been totally sad. And I think he should go home next week. He's good and all, but if you compare him one at a time with the other three, I just don't think he can measure up. But out of the other three, I just don't know who I want to win! This is gonna be one of the hardest years when it comes to the finale. But I'm happy for now! :-P

I couldn't decide who I'd have rather let go . I liked Scott, but I thought Anthony had more potential to go farther in the competition (He was always the one I hoped would win. Scott could have come in 2nd or 3rd for me) Ryan is evil evil evil!!! He needs to stop tourturing everyone. I notice though that Scott was one of the only (maybe THE only?) contestants who actully had a song clip played during his goodbye sequence. From what I remember they showed scenes from the others' auditions but they didn't play the sound. I liked what he said in his goodbye video. I hope he gets a CD. I'll pre-order it!! Commenting on other things, I think their group performance this week was the best one, and Bo looked like a bug. Seriously, I was like "why does Bo have compound eyes?" Those sunglasses are scary. The commercial was also a little weird. I've actually thought the commercials were better this year. I thought they were a bit more creative. And yes, the remote control car commercial was funny. I also thought the one where they had the large heads and were singing at the 50's style drive-in was cute. But, probably my favorite was when they were muppet-ized.

Overall, the commercials are more creative this year - that may be considered by you as "bizarre," but to me it is creative. ^___^

Yes, I must admit that I was happy to see Scott go. Not necessarily because I don't like his voice and personality, but rather because someone had to go and I like everyone else much better (especially Carrie, Bo, and Vonzel )

I saw Anthony's history this week. IMHO, he just ain't upto par with everybody else.

That video was too great. "That was the best male performance in the history of this show."

As for the competition itself, I'd like to see Bo win. You know, I'm kind of glad Constantine was punted a few weeks back...his band sucked and he kind of got on my nerves. That Flash video got his expression right, too. That eyebrow. XD

I'm not sure the look was exactly right. I mean, watching the flash video, I didn't get that "I'm about to come to your house and abduct you because I'm so sexy." vibe that eminated from Constantine. . .

Wow, tonight was a little weird for me, because it really wasn't a matter of who sang well, or who sang in tune, it was more a night of "who was more enjoyable to watch."

I'd say they all did fairly well, except for that Travis Tritt song by Bo. I'm not a big Travis Tritt fan and it was a song I hadn't heard.

Now, for the first set of country songs I rated it in this order:

1. Carrie - Yes, she was all over one of my least favorite country songs. But, it was lively and sung well, so she is the true country artist. Go Carrie!

2. Vonzell & Bo - I'm not sure. Both of them had songs I didn't think much of and both did bad songs well, for them.

I honestly couldn't figure out who did best.

4. Anthony - His voice is so forced and whiny it's not a pleasant sound for me. I thought it was funny how Simon said he sounded "cynical." I'd have to agree.

For the second set of songs:

1. BO!!! - I loved the way he looked, the way he sang and the way he performed. He was AWESOME on this song.

2. Vonzell and Carrie - I don't care what the judges said, Carrie hit her notes on key and so did Vonzell, except for her cracking on that last note.

4. Anthony - I had to mute. It was bad enough he sang the same song Carrie sang, but he did a much worse job on it. I basically just don't like his voice.

Overall, again this was a weird night.

BO IS NUMBER ONE!!! because of his "money" song.

I mean I watch Bo and he makes me smile. ^____^ I listen to Carrie and think, wow she can carry a tune no matter what. I listen to Vonzell and think, she is a joy to watch perform, the way she smiles.

It just comes down to who is enjoyable to watch and Anthony falls short.

I hope Anthony goes home. He's not as good as the others. His voice is not pleasant to listen to. He is not a joy to watch. That's my two cents.

OK, I liked Carrie's second performance tonight no matter what those darn judges said about it. I don't understand how they thought it was pitchy. Maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention, but it sounded great to me. And Anthony's rendition was so boring-- Simon was right, it had no soul.

I didn't really notice so much of a diference with Vonzell in her first performance either, I mean, she didn't sound all that nervous to me, but hey, maybe I'm just off tonight, disagreeing with just about everything the judges had to say. I just liked Vonzell and Carrie tonight. . .

Bo is so much fun. I don't care if they said his first performance was laid back, it made me relax and smile. He just makes any song sound great. I don't think the song has to be the catchiest thing, or that it even has to be the best song available, as long as he can take it and make it rock, which he did. Go Bo!!!

And as for Anthony-- Eh. OK, he was pretty good, his voice sounds nice and all, but compare him one on one with any of the other three and he just looks like an amateur. I think he's going home tomorrow night.

(P.S. Wow, me and TNC are seriously on the same page, I hadn't read her post when I posted and I practically quoted half of what she said. . . freaky.)

I don't know what was wrong with Vonzelle, but I'm glad her second song came through. For once, I really liked Paula. Her subtle question seemed to help Vonzelle a lot. Anyway, Carrie sang a horrible song awesome, but her second song was a little lacking. I don't know who is going home tomorrow, but I can say with confidence that Bo will be one of the two on the last night.

Top 5 recap: Waching the performances again I didn't really change any of my opinions, except that for some reason I REALLY didn't like Vonzel's second performance as much as I did last week. I don't think it showed off her voice as well as it could have. Scott's performance of Broadway also moved up in ranking.

this week. YAY for Country! I don't get why my mom hates it so much. anywho...

Carrie: Sin Wagon: Um...I liked Amy Adam's version better. The second half was enjoyable but in the beginning I think Carrie sounded WAAAAAAY too "twangy". Maybe that's the way the original song is supposed to be, but I've never heard it, I'd only heard Amy's version and this one. Also, one of the lyrics in Carrie's version was different from Amy's. Amy's song had "crazy dancing" and Carrie's version had "Mattress dancing". What the heck is mattress dancing?? is it...
If you don't know me by now: Someone sang this on one of the previous season CDs. Anyway, I agreed with the judges mostly.

Bo: first song: (what was it called again) ><, hated it. The original is a ZILLION times better. I'm going to have to go and find an MP3 of it or something now. Didn't seem to me that he put as much emotion into it as the original song had.
The Money song: Better than the first, but still not my thing. At times I could barely understand what he was saying; a problem I expierence with a lot of rock musicians.

Vonzel: 1st song: I didn't really get the feeling that she was nervous. I didn't really get anything. For some reason Vonzel is starting to take the role Jessica used to have for me. I havn't really gotten into most of her recent songs.
2nd song: Up beat and better than the first, but still didn't make me pay much attention.

Anthony: 1st song: YAY! I enjoyed it. And I think Simon meant that the song was cynical, and didn't he also say that it was kind of the whole theme, not just Anthony's song by itself? I don't really see how Anthony's performance was cynical. And Simon, there is nothing wrong with surupy type stuff. I like surup!! It's good on waffles, and bacon!
If You Don't Know Me By Now: I liked this version more. I think Anthony had soul, although that Woody Allen comment by Simon was amusing. Has this ever happened before, two contestants singing the same song? My mom and I were wondering if they would ever alow it. I guess they did ^^.

but seriously, that probably wouldn't happen unless we have another voter turn around of Constantine proportions ^^. Last year's top 4 elimination was full of surprises too. But I really predict that it will be Vonzel this week. Anthony is probably in danger too ( ) but I've been constantly dialing his number since the voting opened (it's now 8:27 here) and I've only gotten through like 3 times. I think he'll survive this week.

Carrie was awsome last night didn't care much for the first song but it was great ^O^! Bo was so cool, I love rockers and Bo is no exception X3. I left when the others were singing cause I coulda cared less, so didn't hear they're first songs. I know Anthony was bad.

Second round (I make it sound like a boxing match >.>)-I don't remember how Carrie did or how she sounded, it's Carrie so it was definatly good. Bo did really, really, really, really great (woulda added more really's but didn't want to overwelm you guys) I loved the belt and the song he sang was good. =) Vonzell was ok didn't really care. Anthony was really, really, really, bad (three really's don't even begin to describe my dislike for him) I wish he'd just leave already I really want him kicked off >.<.

I really hope Anthony will get kicked off, he should....

Yeah, it was funny. A few of the acting parts were a little hokey, but all in all I thought it was great. Just seeing their hair that way made it worth it .

Now on to the main event: I felt bad for Anthony going home, but I'm so glad it wasn't Vonzell!!!! Now my favorite three have officially made it to the TOP three, so my life is pretty much complete. Ha ha, OK so not exactly. But it was still awesome ! And I'll be so sad next Wednesday no matter who goes. . . But I have to say I guess, all though I love her to death, I hope it's Vonzell. . .
But it'll be so sad to see her go!

Anyhow, as my final word, I will say: ALL HAIL BO AND CARRIE!!!!!! May they rock on forever, or at least for the next ten years!

double aaaaaaargh!! *shoots self...again* Not only did I forget my calculator for my Calculus 2 final today, but now this. Well, I guess this is the end for me guys. Probably won't see me here anymore, after tonight the remaining two episodes will be very boring from my perspective. Now that Anthony's gone the only contestant I care about is Carrie, but I'm not sure if I care enough to actully buy a CD she releases, I'm not that interested in her as a person, and her victory already seems such an inevitable conclusion that there really isn't any point in having them sing. I mean, does anyone, honestly, think Vonzel WON'T be sent home next week? What's the point of having the contestants sing if you already know who's going home and in what order before they even open their mouths? It makes it feel rigged. So I probably won't post here anymore, and if I can help it I'll try not to get involved in the American Idol season 5 topic, since it seems I always end up at odds with the majority opinion, whatever it is. It happened to me with Final Fantasy, with the Matrix, with AI season 3 (contestants I liked: John Stevens, Amy Adams, Diana Degarmo, Jasmine Trias. I think you can all guess discussions between us would have been similar to this season's if I'd been in a topic like this last year) Maybe I should learn to just stay away from fandoms entirely. Honestly, I probably should have left this topic a lot earlyer, for my own sanity.

Well, I shall now go and wait patiently for Scott and Anthony's CDs to come out, in a million years. *glares at the CD companies* Ja ne everyone! It's been...interesting
