Who's pulled an all-nighter?

Talk about anything in here.

When our student ministries throws a lock-in, no one sleeps for fear of becoming "fair game." It's fun until you have to drive two other people home that live almost thirty minutes in seperate directions of the church. I had my music blarring and the AC pumping. x.x
And if it's night time and you're sleep-deprived while trying to drive, you can play my game! I try to see how many of the little reflectors in the middle of the road I can hit. ^^
"So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor."

2 Samuel 6: 21&22

"I am going to take this bucket of water and pour it on the flames of hell, and then I am going to use this torch to burn down the gates of paradise so that people will not love God for want of heaven or fear of hell, but because He is God."

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.

I used to do this all the time in college. Of course, I had my daily 8 pots of coffee to help me out. (Yeah, you read that right. I've cut back significantly since then.)

Here's a tip. Don't feel ready for that final? Spend the whole night SLEEPING not STUDYING. I swear, it'll help more.

I only pull all nighters when I'm having fun. When studying? Forget it. After an hour, I'm out like a brick.

I take it your not a coffee drinker. Wow, that is a seriously foreign concept to me, life without coffee...*shivers*

It's probably for the best that your not dependent on brown sludgy fluid for any semblance of wakefulness. More power to ya ^_^

-_- Hour 36 without sleep XD

How I drove myself crazy and stayed awake today at the same time:
1. Done more thinking than I wanted to.
2. Listened to some rocking Jpop
3. Lots of snacking *gag* No more carbs, thank you.
4. Lots of caffeine
5. More sugar than I care to think about
6. Friends on AIM and YIM

36 HOURS?? That's amazing!..and probably not terribly healthy for you. Is there a reason for the sleep deprivation? :wow!:

I'm suddenly feeling really inspired to stay awake until my portfolio is due on Monday afternoon.

Ive do it without realizing it. I'll be chating on Aim at like 1:00am then blink and Bam, its 7:00am Then I just drink coffee and all. Though I slept 12 hours the following night. Its not funUnless you have someone to stay up with. Then Time flys!

*claps hands* Bravo. I believe I'm about on hour 34 now. Just a bit behind you. haha! I don't know how I'm still so wide-awake. I've hardly touched a drop of caffein today, and just as little sugar. The result: Well I'm feeling slightly faint but that's about it. =_= I would go to sleep if I could but I can never sleep in the middle of the day!!

It's actually easier the longer it goes.

a few months ago, I was up on Thursday until around two or so messing with my computer, then woke up at 8. Friday i had an all night LAN party (age of kings rocks!!!), that day i was doing some volunteer work, and then our church was doing a 24 hour prayer and fasting thing from noon saturday until noon sunday - so that everyone fasts for 24 hours and people sign up to pray fo an hour time slot. I picked 1-2 AM and 2-3 AM was the college group , so i stayed for that (amazingly, i was fully awake for both hours), and didn't really sleep any that night either.
(Just a note: staying up is much more difficult while fasting!!! (Challenge =P ))
Anyway, i was a zombie sunday morining until around 10 (i was decently awake for church though) and then at around noon (when i got food into my system again, although no caffiene for the rest of the day) and i found myself fully awake and alert (playing video games) at 10:00 PM. However, with class the next morning at 8:00 (college is a half-hour away) i decided to go to sleep, although i'm pretty sure i could have gone another day if i bought a couple of energy drinks.

....my body screams at the thought.

I believe that most of the college students here would agree that staying up all night takes on a whole new meaning around mid terms and finals weeks.

Those all nighters are the spawn of evil.

I can skip two nights in a row. After that, though, I have to sleep.

It's a lot harder starting from a position of already being sleep-deprived.

Done it a couple times during my Graphic Design course. Not recommended. Its a lot easier to lose your temper, everything's louder and dream-like and you feel... odd for lack of a better word. Don't do it if it can't be helped!

Did it at a youth camp some years back and that was awesome as we talked about deep theological stuff all night, mucked around and generally acted crazy. We were stuffed the next day and probably looked like walking zombies!

I have stayed up 24+ hours plenty of times, but never to do work.

If I get tired, the only thing that can keep me going is a good conversation or entertainment. If I were to try and stay up to write a paper or some other work... I would probably end up falling alseep earlier then if I had not been doing work.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I guess it's different for different people. Like I can go for about 2 nights pretty easy, then I start to feel tired. And I have to be active too. But if I just take a shower I'm fine.

*laughs* When we first moved the boards over...and we had those troll waves...some of the Staffers, myself being one of them, nearly pulled all nighters. I know quite a few times I only got a couple hours sleep because I stayed up till like 7 or 8 am. Glad thats over with lol.

There's a local film competition called 48 Hours of Madness. The name explains it, where all the teams receive the same script, and you have exactly 48 hours to rewrite it, shoot it, edit it and turn it in. So, no sleep during that period.

I have once before, when I had some friends stay the night at my house. The next night I went to game night at my family members' house. I was at the point of sleeping with my eyes open. Not good. Especially since I was expected to participate in games. Thankfully, my bro-in-law made some coffee and that kept me alive and awake. I think I also pigged out on ice cream, which helped.

Yeah, pulled one in the last month I think. An entire pot of coffee did the trick.

I haven't pulled off an all-nighter, and I don't intend to try it. I'm trying to break the habit of procrastination, mainly because it's so stressful. At age 16, the grey hairs on my head can testify to that.

Wow, I wish I'd figured out the downside to procrastination at the age of 16, would've saved me a great deal of hair pulling and coffee guzzling.

Yup, you are very smart ^_^

I have pulled many for halo tournys. I just don't crash. I just fall asleep at my appointed bed time and then go into a really deep sleep. Coffee does help though.
