Gundam Seed

Postby Fantasy Dreamer » Sat Oct 30, 2004 2:34 pm

Hello folks. Last night, I was allowed to stay up late, and my brother was playing video games on the computer, and my parents were in bed sleeping, so I watched an episode of Gundam Seed. It was the first episode I'd ever seen of it, and I don't know which one it was but it was titled "Kira" (I think), and I loved it! Though I had no idea what was going on, I was drawn in by the storyline, drawn into the emotion of the characters, and into the scenes! The music was pretty great as well, and I fell in love after the first five minutes of it. I would love to see more of it, but I don't think I ever will.

Anyway, could some of you Gundam Seed fans tell me a little about it? That is if there are any on this site.

Gundam Seed? Related to Gundam Wing, right? I, personally, don't know much about any of the "Gundam" series... but you'll see a whole bunch of fans pouring in.... any minute now....

It has been moved.

Personally, I actually have an interest in Gundam Seed, primarily because a friend of mine continually insists that I should watch it. That is not easy to do, but it is at least vaguely on my list.

ok, some gundam seed background etc. the year is cosmic era 72, in the past humans created enanced genetic engineering techniques and created a breed or genetically enhanced humans called 'co-ordinators' normal humans are called 'naturals', there was discontent between the two poples, and the co-ordinators moved off of earth to artificial colony-stations called PLANT's forming a faction called ZAFT. The Naturals are the earth alliance, and the neutral ORB continent. rising tensions caused an outbreak of war between them as the earth alliance destroyed a PLANT in a nuclear attack knicknamed the 'bloody valentine' ZAFT using Mobile suit technology while earth using standard fighter based tech, most of the main char's are students of the neutral ORB faction, Kira the main character being one such of these, who also happens to be a co-ordinator. ORB has secretly developed top-secret GUNDAM's to supply to the earth alliance, the series begins with ZAFT staging a raid on the ORB station heliopolis to steal the GUNDAM's, the students caght in the middle are forced to essape on the earth alliance ship Archangel. Kira is forced to defend his friends using one of the gundams, and ends up in conflict with his old friend Athrun Zala, a hotshot mobile suit pilot for ZAFT. The series follows the changing tides of war between these 3 factions, and the relationship between Kira and Athrun.

thats a sorta general overview

The show is awsome there are many excellent battle scenes which can become intence in all the interesting ways that Kira can advance and make his suit and his abilities better than every one else
also I watched it just this friday since they changed the time that they show it Im so happy that he dumped the evil girl (jumps for joy)

Yet the one thiung that does get on your nerves is the part wher Kiras Mobile suit strike runs out of battery power so quick I mean none of the other suits worry about it but he always does whats up with that

Since someone else has already given you the background on it, I would like to give you a warning:

It isn't any good.

I started out loving it, but at around ep 20 I fizzled out. Nothing happens in the shows, really, (think DBZ) the characters are highly aggravating, and the plot doesn't hold together. Gundam Wing is much better.

Just a warning.

Gundam SEED was a stunning anime, i don't know how people hate it so much, but then again people don't understand why i think Gundam Wing is so bad, i can't stand it, it just seems really 2 dimensional, the only G Wing thing i thought was any good was Endless Waltz, which wasnt bad but was nowhere near SEED's standards

I saw like ten minutes of it one night, but it really doesn't come on at a time when I can record or watch it. I would like to know if it's clean, and if it's uber depressing, in case I ever get the chance to watch it. I'd like to. Thanks!

I'm in the minority in that I'm a Flay Allster Fan! :thumb:
Overall Gundam Seed is one of the best Sci Fi series, wheter anime or
live action out there.
The storyline draws you in and the characters keep you glued.
It's also a really great anti-war series showing how the innocent suffer
the most and how war tears apart even the closest of friends.
I dare anyone to watch especially the final eps.and not cry at some point.
Recommended over Enterprise any day.

SEED is a great series, but comparing it against Enterprise? theres no contest, SEED wins.

i mean enterprise was teh biggest mistake star trek ever made since Nemesis. Both absolutely sucked.
