Ghost in the Shell

An anime film that's been around for quite a while...

I personally really liked it, although the excessive female nudity put a nasty dent in it. However I was pleased about the complete lack of any sexual content. Nevertheless I really wouldn't recommend this to any younger viewers.

Personally I think it's a cyberpunk classic that belongs alongside Akira. In fact I prefer this film to Akira, it somehow seemed deeper. The setting was one of the best things... a futuristic version of Hong Kong. Echoing through the entire film is an absorbing soundtrack that draws you in.....

I might post a review at some point.

Who has seen this, and what did you think?

Absolutely one of the best. The nudity isn't sexualized so it's not really too much of a problem. Recall in any event, that the Japanese are more casual about nudity, and likewise don't necessarily see it as sexual (like the Scandanavians in that regard).

Yeah, this films better than Akira. A better comparison might be Blade Runner (another classic SF film). I loved the art, the philosophical questions raised, the plot, etc. Really, I highly recommend this one.

Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Hentai is the use of sexual anime/manga imagery to induce lust, something that Ghost doesn't set out to do at all. Therefore it is not hentai.

You might be able to call LH mild ecchi, but noone would consider it even remotely hentai.

Either way, GITS is still pretty cool. Althought, I'd have to agree with DJN. I really can't recommend it to younger viewers.

Ghost in the Shell was a good film, but I think I found a few of the scenes a bit more violent than I care for.

I should re-rent it now that I've got DVD so I can see if wide-screen... maybe I can even see it subed and see if it changes any... hmmm.

You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Rom. 6:18

God can do anything, anytime, anyway He wants to.......if He wants to paint me blue and hang me upside down nekkid from an apple tree, thats alright, as long as it's God doing it. Of course, if He comes through with a directive like that, I might have to ask for some I.D. Michael Wanke
