A problem with my brother

It's a long story, but my younger brother is a huge super hero fan (Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, etc.). The problem is, he has no friends who like it as much as him. My sister and I like it, but not nearly as much as him and so I guess that's not good enough. Though I can understand what he means and how he feels, I'll never be into like him. So I have two questions: 1) how can I best help him (I've tried talking to him several times and it seems like it's done no good), and 2) where are the best places for him to meet people like him? I mean anime has clubs and conventions and all, but I don't think super heroes have that. And a big problem is we've almost always been home schooled so are only friends IRL really are each other. Any advice?

Super heroes most certainly have clubs and conventions. Where do you think the whole anime convention thing came from? Let's see... are there any good comic shops where he buys his comics from? I know that when I played card games, I made a lot of friends by hanging out at the comic shops during times when playing there was allowed and I'd just get to know some of the people there. Card games are the reason I have so many friends and am home schooled. Outside of that, I'd suggest finding a local comic book club that has some kids his age and seeing if he'd be interested in that. Also, this is a long shot, but if the Marvel Vs card game happens to be popular in your area (some asking around at card shops could tell you that) then he could get into that and start going to tournaments. That's a great way to meet new people. I'll be praying that he can find some friends who have his interests.

ahh, a delimma. Most people are not THAT big into some hobbies such as starwars and comics and stuff. You could look up for comic conventions near you (with stuff such as superman and batman and the green lantern etc) because I know they have those things. And I think your brother will find those enjoyable. And if you go you could also learn a thing or two and thus developing a closer bond between you two

My younger sister is big into superheroes. And I wasn’t as much. But what we would do was combine things we both liked together to have a common ground. She would get her superheroes, and since I am a writer, I would test out my ideas on her superheroes, see if my stories would make good adventures. It worked out so well that she and I are now working on a completely original superhero spoof, that may one day become a book. (Her superheroes+My Ideas=:dizzy::grin: )

sometimes hanging out at places where comic books are sold is a good way to at least get a feel for who in your community is also into these comics, personally i had a couple of friends from school that also lived in the neighborhood so we would all bike up to the local comic book store and hang out there, sometimes buying stuff, and sometimes we'd pretend that we were the superheroes and make up our own adventures as we went along, i gotta warn you though, don't leave your sibling to hang out by himself (just saying it to say it), two big reasons 1. it's never fun to hang out somewhere all by yourself and 2. these days it's not safe to do either, ok that's all i got
